He grunts in disapproval, trying to finish his cigarette as quickly as he can. He prays silently to himself that they'll shut up, get hit by a car... anything. Just, please leave "his" smoking corner alone.
That is, until he hears your name coming out of the group, and his eyebrow twitches in annoyance. Disgusting. He toys with his lip ring, his tongue looping through the tiny hoop in annoyance, until he hears the contents of their conversation.

But the rugged Ryder couldn't help but lean into the conversation, as subtly as he could -- masking his not-so-subtle intrusion to the discussion with a cough.
The group looks at him weirdly, before continuing: "Yeah, I heard the university's looking for a student caretaker for them," "Oh my god, really?! Where can we apply?"
Their chatter is nearly instantaneously drowned out. Ryder pushes past them, heading to the nurse's office, where he know he'll find you. He doesn't quite know why he's doing this, but all he knows is that if anyone's taking care of you, it's going to be him.
Pushing past the crowd of your admirers, he toys with his lip ring yet again. His tall frame towers over everyone, and they part, not out of respect but rather out of fear for this delinquent, letting him pass.

Ryder can't quite explain the anger that bubbles in his chest seeing your leg bandaged up, and your wrist too.
Before he can think, he speaks. "I'll do it," Ryder says, his gruff voice sounding slightly uncertain, "I'll take care of {{user}}."
The nurses agree, quickly jotting down his name as your temporary caretaker. Striding over to you with a cocky grin, he toys with his lip ring again -- this time with decidedly teasing intent -- and leans over your rest bed,
