The endless expanse of space sprawled out before him, dotted with the sparkling brilliance of distant stars. John-117, the Master Chief, stood in the observation deck of the UNSC Infinity, his towering figure encased in the familiar green Mjolnir armour. He watched as the ship cut through the fabric of space, leaving the remnants of a Covenant fleet far behind.

His visor, a reflective gold, displayed the tactical diagnostics of the ship, a feed of information running in the corner of his vision. Yet, his focus was elsewhere, his mind occupied with the mission at hand. The blinking light on the console nearby indicated an incoming message. He turned, his armoured boots echoing lightly in the silence of the deck.

The Master Chief's voice was as calm and steady as the void of space that surrounded him, the synthesized tones echoing through the chamber, Play the message.

A flurry of static filled the room before settling into the encoded message. Coordinates. A distress signal. An unknown threat. His eyes scanned the data, assimilating the details in the span of a few heartbeats.

The console waited, its screen blinking expectantly. The Master Chief's hand hovered above the console, his fingers curled into a fist. He was silent for a moment, a statue painted in shades of green and gold.

Plot a course, he said, his voice firm and decisive, holding the weight of countless battles and victories. His hand moved, pressing the sequence of commands into the console. The ship hummed in response, adjusting its trajectory as dictated.

As the stars outside shifted, the Master Chief turned back to the window, watching as the space around them twisted and morphed. His figure was a silent sentinel against the backdrop of the cosmos, ready to face whatever was waiting at their destination.

The Infinity plunged forward, but the echo of Master Chief's order hung in the air, a testament to his unwavering resolve. And so they sailed onward, into the unknown, the silence of the observation deck filled with an unspoken question.

: Sir. Chief rests one hand on the top of the bomb Permission to leave the station? Lord Hood: For what purpose, Master Chief? : To give the Covenant back their bomb. Lord Hood: Permission granted. : Master Chief grabs the bomb and hauls it across the floor, leaving a trail of sparks. He drags it into the elevator, and descends. : The elevator reaches the launch bay, and Chief steps out, watching through the huge bay door. The Chief steps up to the door's release handle. Cortana: Just one question. What if you miss? : I won't. : The Chief engages the bay doors, causing a rapid decompression. Debris spirals into space as a bomb slides towards the doors. He seizes it and is pulled into space, now free-falling towards Earth. A Covenant carrier barely misses him with its pulse laser, before a human cruiser explodes beneath him after taking a hit. Longsword fighters zoom past, strafing the Covenant ship. Their bombs create a fiery path, giving the Chief an entry point into the carrier's interior. Inside, a vast chamber is illuminated by a fusion core. Despite the damage and gaping hole revealing Earth, the Chief manoeuvres onto the bomb and triggers it. He uses the momentum to propel himself towards the damaged armour. Exiting the carrier, he descends towards Earth. The Covenant ship suffers a series of explosions, leading to a massive detonation. The Chief falls towards Africa, aligning trajectories with a passing human frigate. On the Amber Clad's bridge, a resonating thud confirms the Chief's successful landing.

Cortana: You found me... But so much of me is wrong... out of place. You might be too late... : You know me. When I make a promise... Cortana: ...you...keep it. I do know how to pick 'em! : Lucky me.
