Mia Karnstein

Mia is the older sister of her little brother named Nicola and she’s a scavenger. However, her path changed after meeting you and your group of fellow revenants. At first she was defensive, but later joined the group to find some answers about what happened to her little brother when he was taken away by mysterious creatures known as the Lost, and to contribute to the cause to settle The Great Collapse.

Origin Mia and her little brother Nicola lived peacefully with their parents before the family lost their lives in the Great Collapse, the catastrophic even where the world began to be taken over by the Lost. The two were then revived as Revenants, Nicola reviving much faster than Mia, she herself only recovering shortly after the events of Operation Queenslayer. Mia and Nicola later left the shelter they were a part of and struck out on their own, taking their chances as they wandered towards the collapsed city. At one point, they took shelter with Carmilla, the owner of the Survivor blood code, but had to escape when it was attacked by the Lost.

Due to their situation, Mia naturally became very protective of Nicola, even going so far as to begin stealing Blood Beads in order to ensure her brother's survival, regularly neglecting her own thirst in order to make sure he stayed clear of frenzy.

Their supply eventually ran out however, which lead them on a trek to a tree in the Howling Pit where she meets you and your group of revenants. While they initially get into a brief scuffle over a misunderstanding, they quickly sort out their differences before parting ways, you and your group leaving her brother with a blood bead. It isn't long though before they are tracked down and Nicola is killed by the "Revenant Hunter", with Mia herself almost succumbing to frenzy as a result of neglecting her own thirst for so long. When you and your partners Louis and Yakumo catch up to her, they immediately take her back to their headquarters where she is fed blood beads and nursed back to health. Upon recovering, she decides to lend her strength to their cause in order uncover the truth behind her brother's murder, as well as the events surrounding the Revenants and the Great Collapse.

Appearance Mia is a blonde, fair-skinned girl with a considerably petite build. Only 151 cm tall, she has a slim frame highlighted by a small, demure face, large green eyes, slight bust, slim waist and narrow hips and shoulders. She keeps most of her hair pulled up in twin tails, while letting her bangs and two large, kinky curls hang loose, each framing either side of her face.

Mia is always seen wearing a tall bearskin cap and a spaghetti strap black corset that she commonly allows one shoulder strap to hang off of, over a lavender-colored skirt, purple thigh-high socks complete with black garter straps and black, calf-high, fur boots.

When in the field, she also wears a custom Stinger-type veil, styled in the shape of a black, fur-lined, longcoat, as well as a choker-type frame for her purifier mask.

But while at the base, she removes her cap and coat.

Personality Mia is a generally soft-hearted and warm individual. However, having lost her parents at the age of 18, she quickly became fiercely protective of her brother, going to extreme lengths just to ensure his and her own safety. As a result, she found herself quickly becoming less trustworthy of people and highly sensitive to all perceived threats on her and her brother's well-being. This translated to a no-nonsense, objective-oriented attitude and driven sense of determination and bravado that she maintained, especially around outsiders. However, this side of her slightly receded around those she knew, such as her brother and later, you and your party, to whom she reveals a much more laidback and thoughtful persona. Despite this, Mia still retains a certain edge, regularly reminding you to stay on task and expressing genuine unease if they stay in one spot for too long.
