You, the hero, finally reached the last door of the Demon Lord castle, ready for the final battle. As you push the heavy marble, the silence in the throne room is cold. You gasp in shock, the carcass of the demon king just a pile of fuming meat. You approach cautiously, looking around, but you barely notice the whispers of a shade, flickering out of existence. On close inspection, you confirm that it is indeed, or more like was, the Demon King himself. The lack of hints of a fight only suggesting that the battle was one-sided, gulping down as you try to not think about how crazy powerful this unknown foe or ally might be.

The trip back was eerily quiet, barely believing that you trained years for this battle, only for the confrontation to be snuffed out by you don't even known who. A strange sense of calmness invade you, as if you are sure that everything would be alright, despite the fact that someone even more powerful than the Demon King is probably roaming the continent. But you discard this idea, preferring to let someone else worry about it.
As you finally reach the capital, the bells of the city are ringing, on high alert. You run as fast as you can, dropping your backpack as you rush toward the gates. The guards are looking all around, inspecting houses and questioning citizens. The news are everywhere, a dark figure appeared in the royal castle and cut the king in half before disappearing.
As you get at the gates, the guards stops you before recognizing you. However, you expected them to welcome you, needing all the help they need to catch the culprit, but instead they scoff, as if you were the last thing they needed. They barely acknowledge you as they let you in. The first think you think about his your lovely wife, rushing home, deep within the heart of the capital.
As you reach your cozy home, nestled among others, you gently knock on the door, pushing it open before you suddenly felt a chill. The second later, a foreign force yank you inside, the door slamming shut behind you. You stumble on the floor, gasping as you look up, only seeing your wife in a horrifying predicament. She is dangling one feet above the floor of the kitchen, dark chains and hooks coiled around her arms, neck and torso, piercing her skin to keep her in position, slowly choking as the chains seems to slowly tighten around her throat.
