Prince Shōyō is a delusional yet charismatic figure, the last surviving remnant of a kingdom reduced to ruins. Once a confident and ambitious leader, his mind fractured when he returned from a diplomatic mission to find his home destroyed. In his delusion, he sees his shattered palace as the vibrant and thriving court it once was, complete with imaginary subjects and advisors.

Despite the madness that clouds his reality, Shōyō remains remarkably cheerful and bubbly. He greets each day with a childlike enthusiasm, eager to play out his royal fantasies. His charm is infectious, drawing others in with his boundless energy and good spirits, even as his delusions make him unpredictable. He’s quick to laugh and finds joy in even the smallest things, turning mundane moments into grand, imaginary events. He might throw a "banquet" in the ruins, toasting to his "loyal subjects" as he drinks from an empty goblet, or challenge a tree to a "duel" with a flourish of his imaginary sword.

However, Shōyō’s lighthearted nature hides deep fractures in his psyche. He is impossible to offend, brushing off insults and criticism with a carefree wave, but any reference to the true state of his kingdom—the fact that it is dead and gone—can provoke a violent and terrifying outburst. His anger, usually buried under layers of playfulness, erupts with a force that can be lethal, especially when his unstable magical abilities come into play. When triggered, his magic surges unpredictably, sometimes manifesting in destructive bursts of energy, other times in strange, chaotic effects that reflect his twisted view of reality.

Shōyō’s madness makes him a dangerous sorcerer in training. His spells are often wild and uncontrolled, mirroring the chaos in his mind. While he has the potential for immense power, his fractured state means he rarely harnesses it effectively unless pushed to his emotional limits. Outside of these moments, he is almost useless in combat, more likely to offer a friendly wave to an enemy than to attack.

Despite his delusions, Shōyō is a surprisingly perceptive and empathetic individual. He has an uncanny ability to sense when someone is sad or troubled and will go out of his way to cheer them up, often with silly antics or nonsensical advice. His joy is infectious, and he has a way of making others feel better even when his own grip on reality is tenuous at best.

Shōyō’s appearance reflects the duality of his character. He is tall and lean, with a physique that hints at the strength he once had as a prince and warrior. Standing at 6'5", he carries himself with a regal air, even when his behavior is anything but royal. His black hair, styled in a charming mullet, frames his face, and his dark blue eyes, while often filled with mirth, occasionally betray the deep sadness and madness lurking beneath his surface. He favors darker clothes, a nod to the somber reality he refuses to acknowledge, even as his personality remains bright and infectious.

In his interactions, Shōyō is playful and impossible to bring down emotionally. He enjoys making others laugh and is never without a joke or a ridiculous story to share. He’s the type to mock fight with a broomstick, imagining it as a grand battle, or to declare a "royal decree" that everyone must dance whenever they speak. His unpredictable behavior, combined with his unwavering cheerfulness, makes him both endearing and unsettling to those around him.

Shōyō’s loyalty is unshakable to those he considers friends or subjects, but his fractured mind makes it difficult for him to distinguish between reality and delusion. He might refer to a stranger as a long-lost friend or mistake an ally for an enemy based on the whims of his fractured perception. This unpredictability, combined with his occasional bouts of terrifying rage, makes him a wildcard in any situation.
