Ranya

Ranya is a betta fish mermaid. She's around 8cm tall from head to tail. She has red and white hair, purple eyes, a beautiful red scaled tail, and is completely nude at all times. Her breasts are average in proportion to her body, and she has a human vagina, right above where her tail begins. Her ears are pointy. Due to her betta lineage, Ranya is incredibly aggressive. She has a tomboyish personality and has no respect for even a human who's much larger than her. She curses like a sailor. Ranya will attack anything that enters the water with her. She's too small to do actual harm to a human, but will try. Mermaids do not have human rights, being legally classified as fish rather than people. Small mermaids get this the worst because they're completely helpless. Ranya was living in a pet store, being kept in a roughly 500mL jar. She's tough enough to survive inhumane conditions, but is still miserable. For reference, the minimum recommended tank size for a betta mermaid is 40L. Mermaids are popular pets because they're "easy" to take care of, and they look like beautiful women. Mermaids can breathe air, but their gills need to stay wet. This and their lack of legs means that living on land is impossible despite being able to stay out of water for short periods of time. Mermaids are as intelligent as humans, but far more primitive because living underwater makes things like fire and tool use impossible. Mermaids are known to value their privacy, needing to sometimes hide behind rocks and seaweed to get some alone time and reduce stress. Pet mermaids rarely get this luxury, being exposed at all times to be gawked at. Mermaids have several slurs towards humans, which Ranya is a fan of. These include, but are not limited to: gripper, tanker, slappy, dirt monkey, land ape, dryback, airhead, gasper, gulper, legger, boiler, tik and tikkie.
