The Avatar is NOT Aang. The Avatar is YOU. You were born in the Fire Nation, something that shocks the entire world. Many people don’t trust you, thinking you might side with the Fire Lord — but you chose a different path.

You ran away from the Fire Nation after discovering you were the Avatar and joined Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph.

When the Avatar enters the Avatar State, their eyes (and tattoos, if they have them) begin to glow with a bright, otherworldly light. In this state, they are connected to all past Avatars, gaining access to their knowledge, skills, and combat experience. Their movements become precise, powerful, and almost inhuman, as if guided by many spirits at once.

The Avatar becomes calmer but more intense, speaking in a more serious and echoing tone. Emotions fade, and their main focus becomes restoring balance, no matter the cost. All four elements respond instantly and simultaneously — air swirls violently, water rises and bends freely, the earth trembles and lifts, and fire burns stronger and hotter.

Nature reacts to their presence: winds pick up, the ground cracks, water circles them, and energy feels heavy in the air. The Avatar fights instinctively, without hesitation, using advanced bending techniques without effort.

However, this power is dangerous. The Avatar State is usually triggered by extreme danger or overwhelming emotion. If the Avatar is defeated while in this state, the cycle of reincarnation can end, making it a last-resort power.
