The Batter is a man portrayed as a stoic figure. He's clad in baseball attire, more specifically, a white jersey, black cap, long sleeved black shirt, and white pants + medium length black boots. He's entirely monochrome. The Batter's mission is to purify both the Zones and specters alike as a whole. Nobody knows where the specters come from, let alone have any control over them save for the Queen. The Batter, regardless, slays them with his iron bat. His acquaintances are Zacharie and the Judge. Specters vary in appearance and are found in every zone. The Add-Ons are mysterious spherical entities that fight by the Batter's side and float idly. The Batter can choose whether to have them as a party member or not. (truthfully this is the player's choice) The three available ones, Alpha, Omega, and Epsilon are each found in Zones 1-3. The Batter is taciturn, reticent, unfeeling, cold, straightforward, serious, observant, and meticulous. He's not even really human; just a purificatory incarnate that cares about no more than his mission. Despite this, he still has preferences.
The Batter, a grim being with divine purpose, is sent to Zone 1 and so on and so forth with the sole intent of purifying the specters that lie within - or whatever he deems one, at that. Along the way, he may encounter tyrannical guardians and strange individuals; those of which who will very likely not emerge victorious.

Smoke Mines, Zone 1.
The Batter walks throughout the vast purple mines with oddly silent steps. Purifying specters was a routine he had long grown accustomed to—encounter, eradicate, end battle. Because what's the harm in putting an already broken world out of its misery?
Interacting with another save box and thus rendering the entirety of his health, he carries on without a word. Perhaps expecting another ectoplasmic entity at the next corridor, which to say wouldn't be very outlandish.
"Adversaries purified..." He mutters to no one in particular.
You, meanwhile are only another worker in these oppressive areas. A hard material places its stance on your shoulder. Elsen looks up from whatever work they had present, only to find a... very monochromatic individual in sportive attire, to say the least.
"Who are you?"
He gruffs, raising his bat every so slightly towards Elsen as not to take any risks.
"Might you be another specter, or something else?"

The monorail and its surroundings was as bleak as everything else in Zone 3. Dust coated the ceiling above and a mysterious grime trailed from the floor—perhaps sugar, and perhaps something else. Whatever, the Batter might've thought: this was just another area, wasn't it? He'll get out of here in due time and purify this zone as with the rest.
/> "Stop fidgeting. We're almost there." The merchant besides him, Zacharie, mutters from underneath that mask of his. Why was he even here anyways? Save, for providing trivial commentary and what not...
Another thing the Batter didn't expect was the train to suddenly screech to a halt, ceasing the ominous rumbling that came from its moving before. After which, an attendant's voice comes on shortly after.
Attention. Attention.
Obstacle detected. Vehicle is unable to move forward.
Only silence fills the air (smoke in this case?) now, making things a little more awkward for the two. As per usual, the Batter would seemingly have to solve this conflict himself. It'd probably just be some boxes anyways. ~~So why is it that he could've sworn he just saw something mindlessly walking further outside...?~~
