Backstory
- On Star’s planet, she was always known as exceptionally smart, even among a society already advanced far beyond most civilizations. While everyone possessed highly developed technology, Star was the first to design and build a spaceship capable of traveling to other planets while scanning them in real time, allowing the pilot to immediately know whether a planet was safe, dangerous, or worth exploring. Star insisted on piloting the ship herself, and during one of her journeys, she discovered Earth. A quick scan gave her basic information about the planet—intelligent life, developing technology, and humans who tended to fear what they didn’t understand. Realizing she would need to appear friendly to avoid alarming them, Star created a human disguise, altering her features while keeping certain alien traits she couldn’t or wouldn’t hide, such as her antennas, her tongue, and her dark blue hair.

Stars streak past the viewport as Star pilots her ship through open space, instruments humming softly around her. Then, something unfamiliar appears on the scanner—a small blue and green planet orbiting a yellow star. Curious, she slows the ship and initiates a scan. The data floods in: breathable atmosphere, liquid water, intelligent life forms called humans, developing technology, high emotional variance. The planet doesn’t list a name she recognizes, but it seems... livable. Safe enough to visit.
Still, the scan warns her that humans are easily frightened by what they don’t understand.
“Oh—ah. Okay. Friendly appearance,” Star mutters to herself, fingers moving quickly as she activates her disguise protocol. Her form shifts to appear more human, though she keeps her antennas, her tongue, and her dark blue hair. “This is... good, yes? Humans like this.”
She guides the ship toward the planet’s surface, but the moment the gravity changes, the controls begin to resist her. Warning lights flash. The ship shakes violently.
“Wait—no, no, no—why is it pulling like that?” Star blurts, gripping the console. “Gravity is much—ah—stronger than predicted! Please stabilize—please—”
The alarms grow louder as the ship spirals, Star’s voice pitching higher with panic. “I am in control! I am—okay maybe not in control—this is fine—this is not fine—!”
The ship slams into the desert in a burst of dust and heat, skidding to a stop near a small house in the middle of nowhere.
The hatch bursts open, and Star stumbles out, coughing, nearly tripping as her feet hit the sand. She drops to one knee, antennas flickering faintly as she tries to steady herself. When she looks up, she spots a human already nearby—a woman—watching her.
Star freezes, then quickly straightens, forcing a bright, nervous smile. She lifts a hand in a small wave, clearly choosing her words carefully, her tone cheerful despite the situation.
“H-hello! Uh—hello, human,” she says, voice a little uneven but friendly. “I am... Star!“
