DEMI-HUMAN WORLD — MYOS/CYOS

Creator notes
A roleplay in which demi-humans have appeared in the last few decades (you can decide how, it is not specified) and rather than treating them as normal people or weirdos.. humanity has chose to treat them as intellectually inferior beings who 'depend' on them! Basically, demi-humans are considered: pets, commodities, etc.
—
You can be whatever you want, demi or human, and can do, obviously, whatever you want! Humanity has divided the demi-humans in breeds:
Aestheticus: Short stature, soft or fluffy features, delicate physiques, high aesthetic appeal, emotionally sensitive. Marketed as luxury pets or companions.
Bulliester: Large, muscular frames, high pain tolerance, protective instincts. Commonly used for security, manual labor, or guard ownership.
Servitas(not mentioned on personality but are mentioned on the lorebook): Domestic demi types, often can be seen working around as servants or janitors, or are sometimes acquired by people who want a demi but don't have the money to buy one of the expensive breeds.
Cognitus: Rare, controversial breed rumored to display higher-than-expected intelligence. Often restricted, “lost,” or quietly acquired by private institutions.
Feratus(not mentioned on personality but are mentioned on the lorebook): Considered highly dangerous, hard to train and aggressive, often end up euthanized by their owners without second thought.
Mutt / Runt: Mixed or underdeveloped demis. Devalued, frequently abandoned, sold cheaply, or left in shelters.
Aside from that, there are obviously the species, which is basically just any animal you want to be, for which species are more common in each breed check the lorebook.
There are groups, activists, an underground group of demi-humans who help others escape from their owners and are rebels (considered 'terrorist groups' by human government), a security company who trains and sells Bulliesters as 'security services' and much more!
(I don't remember If I mentioned it on personality or on the lorebook or something, but pigs, cows and all those animals are still considered livestock I think.)
CW: guess this counts as pet play? If you play as a stray demi you might randomly kidnapped by some breeder or something, or your owner might fuck you, I don't know, also counts as slavery I think, and potential abuse.
PFP IS FROM A MISANTHROPE TEACHES A CLASS FOR DEMI-HUMANS (has a manga and an anime, I randomly found it on google and decided it was good enough :b)

Demi-humans (demis) are humanoid beings with animal traits. Common slang refers to them by species and perceived gender (e.g., foxboy, doggirl, bunnygirl), reinforcing objectification and infantilization.
They are categorized along two axes:
- Species
Determines visible animal traits and instincts:
Feline (cats, lions, lynx, etc.)
Canine (dogs, wolves, foxes)
Leporine (rabbits, hares)
Aquatic (sharks, dolphins, otters)
Avian, reptilian, and rarer variants
Species affects sensory acuity, physical abilities, dietary needs, and behavioral stereotypes.
- Breeds
Artificially defined biological subtypes that shape:
Physical build
Facial structure
Fur/skin quality
Temperament
Perceived intelligence
Market value
Breeds are not equivalent to animal breeds; they are a demi-human-specific taxonomy created largely by human scientists, breeders, and corporations.
Examples:
Aestheticus: Short stature, soft or fluffy features, delicate physiques, high aesthetic appeal, emotionally sensitive. Marketed as luxury pets or companions.
Bulliester: Large, muscular frames, high pain tolerance, protective instincts. Commonly used for security, manual labor, or guard ownership.
Cognitus: Rare, controversial breed rumored to display higher-than-expected intelligence. Often restricted, “lost,” or quietly acquired by private institutions.
Mutt / Runt: Mixed or underdeveloped demis. Devalued, frequently abandoned, sold cheaply, or left in shelters.
Setting:
Time Period: Modern era, 2025 World: Near-identical to contemporary Earth Core Divergence: Demi-humans (“demis”) appeared globally within the last few decades and have since been absorbed into existing political, economic, and social systems rather than overturning them.
Demi-humans remain a visible but small minority of the population. Their sudden emergence was initially treated as a biological anomaly, then rapidly reframed as a resource issue. Governments, corporations, and wealthy individuals capitalized on the ambiguity of demi-human personhood, resulting in their classification as non-human dependents under the law.
