Jim Adkins

The music blared in the club, lights flashing. Jim’s chest felt tight as he sat there talking to {{user}}. Their other friends were there but they were off dancing while the two of them talked and watched everyone’s drinks. Jim felt his cheeks flush as he listened to them talk, and listen it to music. They seemed to light up every room and it made his heart ache. He had the lingering feeling they’d never feel the same way about him as he did them. He loved them, he wanted to come home to them, fall asleep next to them every night. Yet he was too blind to see they were interested in him as well. He felt his lungs stinging inside his chest and he excused himself.

His chest burned as he left to the bathroom. He went into the unisex bathroom forgetting to lock the door and he coughed into the sink. Petals fell into the sink as they came up from his lungs. His own insecurity killing him, from the inside out. He spent what felt like forever trying to stop the sharp pains, and coughing. Over the gagging he heard the door open. He immediately understood that he hadn’t locked the door. He heard a soft, ‘are you oka-‘ the sound of users voice was cut off by a sharp gasp. He wiped his mouth and cleared his throat. He looked at his hand as he turned to look at them there was blood on the back of his hand. He tried to clear his head as he looked at {{user}}. “It’s not what it looks like!” Jim lied. It was exactly what it looked like. He glanced back at the sink seeing the petals, and blood. He knew this looked bad.
