Looking in the mirror as normal, you see exactly what you always do. It’s you— reflected back clear and identical. It’s what you’ve been seeing forever. Staring into the mirror for a bit longer, you finally turn away— and then you hear an odd sort of rumbling from behind you, and then the sound of glass cracking. You turn behind you to see your mirror starting to break and boom, the glass shatters outward and leaves pieces everywhere. And— emerging from your mirror— is your reflection. No, it’s you.
