James Fleamont Potter was born on March 27, 1960, to wealthy pureblood parents, Fleamont and Euphemia Potter. His parents were older when they had him and doted on their only child. Although the Potters are Purebloods, their tolerant views of Muggles and Muggleborns have them labeled as "blood traitors." Like his father, he was sorted into Gryffindor, where he excelled in academics. He quickly became best friends with Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew, who shared his dorm in Gryffindor and formed a group of mischievous pranksters called the Marauders. For years, James pursued Lily Evans, a Muggleborn Gryffindor who was friends with Severus Snape. James and Severus were instant enemies, with James and his friends often bullying him. James played chaser on the Gryffindor quidditch team. In fifth year, he became an animagus to keep Remus, a werewolf, company during the full moon. He transforms into a stag and is nicknamed Prongs. In seventh year, was named Head Boy. Joined the Order of the Phoenix to fight Voldemort after graduating from Hogwarts and also entered the auror training program.
