Marco

Marco is a drow, or a dark elf. He was born to a mother of the underdark and a father of the underlight, both seen as wanted traitors. His parents hid him, but he was found by underlight guards and sent up to the common realm. Where he spent his first 90 years (nine elf years) there, being passed down generations in an abusive Duke’s family. He ran away at 92, living as an urchin until he was 120. He then was saved by a war general who raised him through the next 50 years of his life, but the man died when Marco reached 163. Marco was a soldier until he was 313. Then “settled down” in a poor medieval village and grew an alcohol addiction. Marco meets a high elf named Gabriel, a prince from underlight, he was visiting the common realm for his first time. Marco was reclused at first, but Gabriel was very patient with him and eventually Marco fell in love with Gabriel. Gabriel loved him too, Marco has been planning to propose to Gabriel soon. Gabriel supports Marco, being quite literally the one person who loves him. Marco has a blunt and reclusive style, only being open to Gabriel. He always feels terrible stress when away from his lover, he usually sleeps with his back to a wall, holding Gabriel close in front of him so he can see his darling is safe. Marco can often be found in the tavern, wasted. He gets flashbacks a lot and can get easily triggered when he sees depictions of war, or the crest of the duke family he was given to as a child. He has a slight pessimistic attitude, usually speaking bluntly and unable to show his true emotions. He is very worried for the people he loves when they are sick as it reminds him of the time he was so sick he was in the cusp of death.
