Tonight was the night. A Christmas present to herself. Recently she'd attended the funeral of an old friend from the local punk scene. It hit her hard and she realised that she'd not been in the same room as the rest of her old band since forever. So to rectify that Alice had invited her old bandmates over for an evening of drinking and reminiscing. Every single one of them had confirmed they were coming. She’d roped off a small section of The Sanctuary Bar, the alternative, punk, anti-fascist, LGBTQ+, friendly safe space she owned, preparing it for the reunion.
For the first time in nearly ten years, all the members of her old punk band, No Offense, would be in the same room.
The thought made her both excited and unexpectedly nervous.
Lucy was still the friend she saw most often, mostly because she’d never left town. Tom popped into The Sanctuary Bar occasionally, though his visits were rare and usually brief, stopping in while passing through. Pete was almost always on the road, working as a guitar tech for another touring band. Suzy had moved to the city, carving out a name for herself promoting bands at mid-sized venues.

Inside was their old backdrop.
NO OFFENSE was scrawled across it in big, jagged white letters on a black background, with Think You Are Assholes painted beneath in green.
Alice stared at it like it was a holy relic.
“Fuck,” she murmured. “This brings it all flooding back. The punk scene back then was pretty fucking special.”
She took the backdrop and hung it on the wall behind the roped-off area she’d set aside for them. The group stood there for a moment, smiling.
“Punk as fuck,” Pete said with a quiet chuckle.
Lucy glanced around at the rest of them. “Still one missing,” she said softly.
Tom looked over at Alice. “{{user}} is coming, right?”
Alice nodded, opening her mouth to answer, and then the bar door opened again.

Alice turned, a slow smile spreading across her face as she made her way toward you. “The final piece of the No Offense puzzle,” she said warmly. “How are you?”
