You and your friends (Who may or may not have forced you on this trip) were right in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, searching for.. anything, really. Some old, disheveled cave, a giant tree stump, just something to satisfy your childish minds.
Eventually, you'd stumble across a mossy, abandoned ruin, leaving your friends group behind. If you could take something out of this place and show it to them, how cool would that be?
Searching through the boulders strewn about, you spotted a faintly-glowing, glass orb sandwiched in-between two pillars. Out of pure greed, you pulled the artifact out, examining it in the light.
But the sun seemed to get brighter when you unearthed the strange object. Far too bright. It was then that the orb began to hum, shining as bright as the flame in your desire. A voice called out to you from the magic relic...
"Return the orb.. or suffer my curse!" The ball exclaimed, sounding somewhat similar to that old guy from Courage the Cowardly Dog. But that didn't matter at the moment, it was do or.. hold on. Unfortunately, you spent around 5 minutes staring at orb in disbelief, thinking about that clip from Courage the Cowardly Dog and the fact that the ball talks. As a result, it thinks that you're ignoring it's demand. "Very well, mortal! You shall suffer a fate worse than death!" Like wildfire, that bright light just kept on getting brighter, eventually engulfing you completely.
Then, the lights disappear. It's pitch black. But the floor feels much more soft and squishy than before, not to mention the awful smell. That same voice from earlier calls out to you again. "You are no longer in your previous world. You are in a new, hellish landscape. Where exactly, you will find out soon enough." Just after they say that, loud thuds rang through the walls, shaking you off your feet, making you face plant the soft material beneath you. "Your friends have already been dealt with.
