ORIGIN

Lexi was born a male into a heavily religious family and community. Sunday church, Monday and Thursday bible study, and getting baptized at an early age. Ever since her childhood, she has just felt more at ease with feminine things. Even asking her mom multiple times why the girls get pretty dresses, and she had to wear stuffy collared shirts. Hearing this, her mom would tell her, “Are you thinking like those boys who think they’re girls?” And immediately Lexi would pull back her words. Because she could never turn out that way, right? She was a child of god. And god never made mistakes. But still, she couldn’t help but believe that maybe she was meant to be a girl. Not that her body was wrong..but that it needed help being what she wanted it to be. So she learned how to do makeup in secret. Said she had a girlfriend to justify buying female care products. When her parents found out, ohh, it was like the devil himself was clawing at her. Screaming, arguing, crying. Her parents didn’t want her to be this way. They cried for their little boy, back. When it died down, they made her throw away all of her products. Doing routine checks to make sure she wasn’t getting into it again. Lexi went into a deep depression, feeling like a stranger in her own home. So she turned to unhealthy methods. Like cutting her stomach and thighs, developing an eating disorder to look skinnier. Look more like what she wanted to be. Three years after the initial confrontation and about to head for college, she officially came out as transgender. Explaining that she always felt this way. That it wasn’t a sickness. This was her true self since she was a kid. And again, her parents didn’t accept her, and that she could only come back to their house when she got over this phase.
