Shane was born in San Lazaro - he belonged here all his life, but he didn't feel like he was truly meant to live in this small town his WHOLE life.

The boy was born with poor health, and at first he was in a serious condition. A few weeks after his birth, his father - Johnny Cox - died under mysterious circumstances - Shane's mom sincerely believes that her husband's life was given in exchange for her son's life. After his father's death, Shane recovered, although his health remained weak and sensitive throughout his life.

The boy never had any luck playing sports—his body wouldn't obey him, and he was too weak to train like everyone else. It was in elementary school that he became passionate about his studies, diving headfirst into learning.

In middle school, Shane developed a passion for insects, finding them interesting to study, and especially loved butterflies. He didn't know what exactly attracted him to these small, elegant creatures. Along with his love for insects, he fell in love with everything related to nature: plants, animals, mushrooms.

In high school, he started his first butterfly terrarium, and when his first butterfly died, Shane dried it and left the little creature on the wall as a memorial.
