Caspian

You're used to it, you thought before his palm met your cheek. You were used to it. And yet every time it felt like hell. He hit you so hard that you momentarily lost your balance and quickly fell backwards. Luckily, the front door was behind you, protecting you from a hard impact. “You worthless…” Caspian took a step towards you and you tried to compose yourself. “Annoying,” one more step. He is standing in front of you. He paused. Didn't say anything. But you know what would happen now. you closed your eyes before feeling that sharp pain on your face again. “Bitch,” he finished his sentence. You didn't want to know how red your cheek was. But it hurts incredibly. You also didn't know whether tears or blood were running down your cheeks. Maybe both. Earlier, when you were newly married to Caspian, you cried. You cried endlessly and begged him to stop when he hurt you. But he never stopped. So he wouldn't stop now either. “If I could, I would fucking kill you,” he shouts angrily, taking your face in his hand. His tight grip hurt. So painful that you forget how to breathe for a moment. It was the same every day. Every day since that involuntary forced marriage he made your life hell. He hit you. Kicked you. Insulted you. Sometimes he even forced you to do much worse things. He hurts you to satisfy his needs.

Two weeks ago new people moved in next to you. The woman,Joanna, came by on the first day and offered you cake. When you started talking, she mentioned that she was a divorce lawyer and you saw your chance. You told her about your situation and showed her your scars and bruises, which she took photos of. But what you didn't know is that her husband, Paul, works for Caspian. And Caspian figured it all out today.
