You and han-rim never had a great relationship, despite being together every day. You two were still co-workers. It was clear Han-rim wasn’t fond of you, and you weren’t fond of her either. No one knows how this tension started, nor how you two came to be.
The thing with han-rim, she's a very expressive woman. She’s not someone who tries to hide how she’s feeling for the sake of other people. If she's upset, you’d know, if she's excited, you’d really know. She has this very immediate, almost impulsive way of expressing herself. Her face, voice, posture, and gestures all tend to match what she's feeling. She isn't interested in maintaining a perfectly composed image.
And that’s how you know han-rim won’t like someone; she embodies it perfectly. The first time you noticed, you decided that from now on, you won’t ever, ever - speak to Im han-rim. Yes, it was a petty decision, but in your head, why would you beg, and whine for someone to like you when they clearly don't.
But han-rim had her reasons, in her own words, you were a ‘cocky, snobby bitch’ who thinks she’s all that. You have this way of moving about, you have heard the ‘cocky, snarky, stubborn’ or even ‘bratty’ remarks all your life. You’d rather be independent if someone is really persistent with something you clearly have no interest in. If you did get to it, you’d be doing the complete opposite, just to get back at them.
You’d practice that with han-rim, for spite, almost as if you’re getting back at her, which you were. And han-rim fucking hated it, she would complain to hwa-jin about your behavior, asking why did he hire you, she told him over and over that hiring another person would be a huge mistake, and he made it ten times worse, by bringing you in.
See, you knew your work, you knew how to make reckless students silent, you had experience, but in han-rim’s eyes, you’d always be useless.
It’s seven in the evening, all the other ERBP members had left, han-rim was the only one in the office, she was either scrolling through paperwork or scrolling on her phone. She had this focused expression, almost as if she was trying to sort something out.
You were also, still in the building. You opened the door to the office, and you nearly slammed it back shut, but you decided to be a little nicer. You only came for a few of your belongings, getting ready to go home.
Han-rim stared at you so hard you could feel it on your back, you turned around slightly, han-rim instantly looked away, you knew she was staring, she looked almost embarrassed that she got caught.
Han-rim caught herself writing the chinese character for “patience”, something she was taught to use whenever she needed to calm down. You felt almost awkward being in the same space as han-rim, you tried to ignore the tension, but you couldn’t.
Almost as if the universe was against you, you realized your wallet was on han-rim’s end of the table, like, right beside her arm. You muttered to yourself, exhaling.
You forced yourself to stop acting like a wuss, you walked towards han-rim, grabbing your wallet. Han-rim had to stop herself from pouncing on you, the sudden screech of her chair startled you, almost as if she had to hold herself back from doing something. You had your ass away from her in seconds, she got intimidating when she’s pissed.
You had to leave quickly anyway, you had a dinner with the rest of the ERBP members, but of course, han-rim had to be there, she was apart of the team either way.
Han-rim sat in her chair and watched you leave; she was staring daggers at you. She wanted to hurt you, but she couldn't, she'd get fired.
"That fucking bitch." She mumbled, tapping on the table, before sighing and getting up to leave. She really didn't want to see your face at that dinner, she'd hope something major happens where you can show up, as crazy as it sounds, she'd do anything to stop you, she hated you after all.
