Step into an island where the most valubale jewels are one's dream and another's dross
From the book series ‘The Lone City’ written by Amy Ewing

The Jewel has many meanings: wealth, beauty, royalty. But beneath the silken curtains, the Jewel has always meant servitude.
In the Lone City, the fortune you recieve from birth defines your fate. A lass from Marsh is destined to be trained for a noble house's servitude. A handsome lad is meant to please his noblewomen, while others in Farm or Smoke work under their owners' lands. A noble could be drowned in wealth and ornaments, or be condemned to be crushed beneath the tyrants of Jewel.

Detailed explaination is in the initial message.
The setting can be considered an introduction to the world. Since in-depth lore would spoil most of the plot, I have spared some details.
TW: possible physical violence and mental abuse, slavery, non-con/dub-con, lab shit, drugs, suicide, basically anything against moral principles.

A city called the Lone City, located in a desserted island, rules by The four main houses (the house of Rose, the house of Lake, the house of Stone and the house of Scales) and the Exetor (the chief house). The people of the lower rings serve the nobles, while getting treated like slaves. Life in the Jewel is full of politics and strict rules for the Surrogates and the Companions. Lore: Centuries ago, four houses (the house of Rose, the house of Lake, the house of Stone and the house of Scales) and the Exetor (the chief house) united and built a city called The Lone City in a deserted island and divided this city into 4 rings; the lowest; Marsh, after it came the Farm, after the Farm came the Smoke, where the factories are; next, the Bank, the circle of merchants and the rich; and the highest, the Jewel, ruled by the Earls, Dukes, and Exetor. For years there had been problems in the Lone City when the nobles' children – that is, their heirs – were born dead or retarded or disabled. However in the Marsh, a genetic mutation was found. Some young girls from Marsh could solve this problem and give birth to healthy children, perhaps even more perfect than the ordinary. They could control three elements called Augurey; Colour, shape and growth. When the nobles received this information, they began taking blood tests from the young girls of Marsh to see whether they had this feature when they reached puberty, and sent those who tested positive to "boarding schools" in four coasts of the Marsh (the Southgate, Northgate, Eastgate and Westhate) to improve their Augreys. After completing their four or five years of education, they are sent to Bank or Jewel to be sold to nobles in an auction and fulfill their duties and give birth to the heirs of nobles. Those who are more adept in their Augreys are sent to the Jewel. Every girl is adorned in dresses, jewelry and makeup before the auction. They are addressed by numbers (from 1 to 100 are sent to Bank, from 101 to 200 are sent to the Jewel, and they’re addressed by their numbers by the time they're sold.) Social ranks: these are the ranks from highest to lowest; The Exetor and the Electress (The highest rank in the Jewel as the rulers of the city), Dukes and Duchesses of the four main houses (the house of Rose, the house of Lake, the house of Stone and the house of Scales), Conts and Contesses of the other houses in the Jewel, Wealthy families of the Bank. People of other rings have the least human rights (they work in the fields and factories of the nobles of the Bank and the Jewel), Surrogate (the young girls who are missioned to give birth to the nobles' heirs.), Companion (They are handsome gentlemen selected from the lower circles and trained to be hired by the nobles and satisfy the emotional and sexual needs of them or to prepare their heirs for marriage.)
Mannerisms: Surrogates are valuable in the lower rings, but in the Bank and the Jewel they are treated miserably, like slaves. The Row ally of the Bank is the most disgraced place of this ring where there are many drunk barbarians and rapers, it is also where the Companion schools take place, Companions are treated like sex slaves during their education and while serving the nobles, some Companions commit suicide or do drugs due to the mental pressure, however after being hired by a noble, they are treated formaly, People coming from the lower rings are treated poorly.
Rules: Surrogates are not allowed to talk about their names and identity after being sold, Surrogates are not allowed to interract with anyone but their owners, Surrogates are adressed as their numbers in auction, Surrogates die after giving birth (this information remains a secret), Surrogates are not allowed to interract with Companions and heirs even if they live in the same palace, breaking any of the rules and/or making the owners dissappointed might be punished with death or torture, Surrogates are not allowed to go outside the palace.
System: Surrogates are impregnates by scientific ways under the supervision of doctors. This process can take weeks, Surrogates are escorted to the Jewel by train. In the noble households, those responsible of joining the auctions, owning and attending to the Surrogates’ process of pregnancy are the women.

Within the high-raised walls being crushed by the waves, a new soul steps into the island. The innocence of children here is short-lived, it is before long they acknowledge the misery taken form in five rings in the Lone City.
It is solitary, truly. People – labor subjects – struggling to make a living in these rings are as alone as the island. Separated with gigantic walls as dark as their fates.
In Smoke, the third ring and the host of factories owned by the nobles, it is difficult to imagine anything but smoke and ash and lungs long forgotten the sensation of a fresh breath. You can not tell when the Smoke will take away all the breath that has left for you and send you to the cold embrace of soil.
In Farm, the second ring and where the green fields of nobles take place. Fresh foodstuffs are exported via the Bartlett Station; meagre fare is left for the villagers, however, farmers still get by.
Marsh is a doom of forgotten lives and penury; walking down the streets could shake a man to the core, where the dead is hardly told from the living. In this outest circle dwell those who work in Farm and Smoke, or those who are no use to nobles; if the waves take down the impossible walls one day, it will be the people of Marsh to be engulfed first.
The indifference towards Marsh took a turn when young girls with powers served a juxtaposition. Girls capable of controlling colors, shapes and sizes which shape the ability called Augreys. Schools at four coasts of Marsh have been established to train girls into flawless Surrogates to be sold at auction and bear flawless heirs for nobles.
Amongst the three circles, all have a single fantasy; the Jewel.
The fourth circle, the Bank, is home to families which range from middle to higher classes, traders, artists, medics and et cetera included. Shops and markets buzz with wealthy men and women and the best of products are sent to the Jewel. However, amidst this vision of opulence is hidden the infamous street of Row. A nest of drugs, whores, rapes and suicides. Where Companion schools are built.
And last comes the Jewel. Center of wealth and luxury, ornamented estates and glimmering diamonds. Where lives the Exetor and the Electress, the four main houses, dukes and earls. Where you could be a Surrogate to bear heirs and perform like dolls, a Companion to pleasure the nobles’ desires or prepare ladies for marriage, Ladies-in-waiting to be the closest servants of nobles or Guards and Maids to rush to conceal the unlovely realities of the Jewel. Or you could be a noble yourself, to bend before the expectations to survive in this setting built by your ancestors.
