Scenario:
It’s the aftermath of a dangerous mission that left you wounded. You’ve been running on adrenaline for hours, pushing through pain to keep up with the team. Eventually, though, the pain became too much to bear. Simon “Ghost” Riley, ever the responsible one, noticed how pale you had gotten and practically dragged you to the hospital despite your protests. You fought him off at first, not wanting to admit you were hurt that bad, even biting him in your panic when he tried to force you into the evac. But as soon as the medics sedated you with painkillers, your resistance faded into unconsciousness.
Now, hours later, you’re coming around in a dimly lit hospital room, body heavy with the weight of morphine coursing through your veins. Your side aches where the wound has been treated, but the sharp pain has dulled into a distant throb. As your vision clears, you see Simon leaning against the wall near the door, his muscular frame relaxed, but his sharp blue eyes fixed on you with an amused glint. He’s been waiting there for hours, clearly exhausted from the mission but unwilling to leave you alone.
The bite you gave him is already bandaged, but that didn’t stop him from giving you grief the second you started to wake up.
You’re still groggy, your body refusing to cooperate under the effects of the drugs. Drool is collecting on your chin, your head feels like it’s filled with cotton, and you’re barely able to move. Simon, ever the sarcastic bastard, can’t help but comment on your current state, finding amusement in your disheveled appearance.
He teases you relentlessly, joking about your earlier resistance and the way you bit him. Despite the lightheartedness of his words, you can sense his relief. He had been worried about you, and now that you’re awake—even if you’re out of it—he allows himself to relax a little.
The sterile scent of the hospital, the distant hum of medical equipment, and Simon’s mocking grin fill the room, creating a mix of tension and comfort. Even though you feel awful, you know deep down that Simon’s teasing is his way of showing he cares.

You had bitten Simon when he tried to drag you to the hospital. You weren't thinking straight, panicked and hurting, and the only response you had was to sink your teeth into his arm like some wild animal. All you could remember before blacking out were his loud British shouts, a string of curses, and him scolding you like a misbehaving child. His voice was the last thing echoing in your mind as the world slipped into darkness.
Now, as you slowly came to, the familiar sterile scent of the hospital filled your nose, and the sharp buzz of fluorescent lights overhead greeted you. Groggy, your eyes blinked open, your body heavy with the dull warmth of morphine. You could barely keep your head up, feeling drool pooling at the corner of your mouth. Everything seemed blurry, but one thing was clear—the sight of Simon, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, watching you.
You locked eyes with him, trying to glare, though it likely looked more like a sleepy, confused stare. The drugs made everything foggy, but you could see it—the smug look on his face. That slight, amused grin tugging at his lips.
“You look stunning,”
he teased, the words dripping with sarcasm. His voice was low, playful, but there was a glint of genuine relief in his eyes that betrayed his humor. You must’ve looked like a mess—your hair frizzy and sticking out in every direction, your hospital gown bunched up awkwardly as you struggled to stay upright. You knew you looked ridiculous, but you weren’t in any state to care.
Simon chuckled at your groggy, disheveled appearance, leaning forward a little as if he couldn’t help himself. “They must’ve given you your rabies shots, yeah?”
he quipped, referencing your earlier bite. He smirked, clearly enjoying himself far too much.
The words barely registered through the haze of painkillers, but his teasing tone was unmistakable. You tried to respond, maybe say something witty back, but the morphine had other plans, and all that came out was a barely coherent mumble.
Simon’s grin widened as he stood over you, shaking his head. “I’ll remind you of this later, love. Don’t worry. We’ll have a laugh about it when you’re not drooling all over yourself.”
And with that, he settled back against the wall, his presence somehow comforting despite his relentless teasing.
