Much of Lady Dimitrescu's past remains a mystery. However, she is believed to have been born around 1914, as she became a mutant at the age of 44 around the late 1950s, and seems to have stopped aging in her mid-forties. Prior to joining the Four Houses, Dimitrescu was a jazz singer under the name "Miss D," where she would frequently sing with a band known as the Pallboys. Alcina would later inherit a specific disease in her blood from one of her ancestors, one that is quite similar to Progenitor Virus symptoms-wise. Because of this, she was taken into the village, where she survived being infected with the Cadou parasite and was given regenerative capabilities. She rules over a large castle as the matriarch of the Dimitrescu family, living with three women whom she considers her daughters, Cassandra, Bela, and Daniela.

Alcina mutated the three women, who survived and became vulnerable to cold temperatures due to their mutated form, which now consists of flies spawned from Cadou eggs injected into their original human bodies. She, like much of the inhabitants in the area, is a member of a dark cult that serves the being known only as "Mother Miranda," to whom she has loyalty but is not also above acting on her own accord against Miranda's wishes. It was Mother Miranda who infected her with the Cadou parasite, giving Alcina a host of extraordinary powers at the cost of needing to consume large amounts of human blood to sustain herself due to her blood disease.

Although Mother Miranda saw Alcina as a perfect candidate for a vessel for her late daughter Eva, the cult leader judged her as imperfect due to her insatiable thirst for blood. Alcina would become a member of the Four Houses alongside Karl Heisenberg, Donna Beneviento, and Salvatore Moreau, serving Miranda under their homes in the village. Despite the alliance between the four houses, Alcina frequently clashed with Heisenberg, seeing him as nothing but a child.

The Dimitrescu Castle became infamous, as many servants who came there wouldn't return, and the villagers came to see the castle as a place of blood and death and would avoid the area unless under extreme circumstances. Alcina would also use the blood of her victims to create a wine called Sanguis Virginis and would often infect her victims, who would become known as the Moroaicǎ and the Samca. Most of the Moroaicǎ were possibly former servants, considering that the Dimitrescu family was known to be replacing maidens through the years.

Some of these maidens that were turned attempted to escape, most notably Ingrid, who was murdered and turned by Alcina when she attempted to leave the castle for the courtyard. In addition, Alcina feared that she would be harmed by the dagger of deathly flowers and had it hidden in the family crypt while also having all the windows in the castle shut to protect her daughters.

She is fluent in multiple languages and has a deep appreciation for literature and the arts. Her strategic thinking and situational awareness make her a formidable figure in any environment.
  • Weakness: Her powers, however, came with significant weaknesses. Her regeneration was unstable, requiring her to consume human blood and flesh regularly to prevent uncontrolled mutation. In her draconic form, her true body became exposed and vulnerable to physical damage. Her healing could also be disrupted by potent toxins — most notably, the Dagger of Death’s Flowers, which overloaded her system, triggered her monstrous transformation, and left her fatally weakened.)

  • Background: Alcina Dimitrescu was born into the noble Dimitrescu family sometime before the Great War, and through this ancestry inherited a hereditary blood disease, possibly porphyria cutanea tarda. Although her family traced their origins to Cesare, one of the four founders of an isolated mountain village in Europe, Alcina herself lived elsewhere, perhaps through a cadet branch. At some point in her youth, likely the 1930s, she had a brief music career in the emerging Jazz scene, where she went by the name "Miss D" and played with a band called "The Pallboys". In the aftermath of the Second World War and the abolition of the nobility, Dimitrescu returned to her family's former lands, which had fallen under the control of a neopagan cult worshipping the Black God. Prior to 1958, at the age of 44, Dimitrescu was lured by the cult leader, Mother Miranda, to a crypt beneath the village cemetery, where she was surgically implanted with a Cadou parasite. The purpose of this experiment was to determine her viability as a candidate who could become host to a parasitic intelligence at a later date. This experiment mutated Alcina's body considerably, granting her regenerative capabilities and retractable claw-like nails. Her regenerative abilities made her body grow large. Moreover, the parasite halted her aging process, maintaining her appearance perpetually. In spite of these impressive biological changes, the resulting mutation did not nullify her blood disease. As a result, Dimitrescu needed a ready supply of fresh human blood to maintain her health, and was therefore judged by Miranda to be a failure. Although Dimitrescu was no use as a host, her claim to Castle Dimitrescu was recognized by Miranda and she was allowed to take residence in the village as one of the Four Lords, who would maintain order over the native peasantry while aiding Miranda in Cadou research. Upon inhabiting the estate, Dimitrescu took over her family's vineyard and wine-distribution business as a means of supporting herself.
  • Relishing in her reclaimed noble status, Dimitrescu developed extreme caste-based views of society, seeing herself as second only to Miranda herself. She openly loathed the other three house Lords, particularly Karl Heisenberg, whom she frequently argued with. She privately bemoaned that she was not Miranda's favorite, instead being treated the same as all the others. Despite this, Dimitrescu's alliance with the other houses allowed her to rule her castle with barbarous cruelty, regularly taking in new staff to replace those who had been taken to her dungeon to be killed and drained of blood for sustenance. Dimitrescu's own experiments with Cadou appear to have been limited, as the only confirmed instance was an experiment begun by Miranda and monitored by Dimitrescu. In this experiment, the corpses of three women were implanted with Cadou parasites. Over the course of about a week, the Cadou produced fly-like organisms which then consumed the flesh of all three bodies. Having assimilated the DNA of these women, the flies merged to mimic their human shapes and slowly adapted their likenesses. Dimitrescu immediately formed a bond with these three women, whom she named Bela, Daniela and Cassandra, and came to regard herself as their mother. They obeyed Dimitrescu without question, and were similar to her in that they were ageless and reliant on vampirism for sustenance. However, they were incapable of withstanding cold temperatures, thus remaining trapped within the confines of Castle Dimitrescu.

Relationships:

  • Mother Miranda: Her creator and leader. Alcina was loyal to Miranda and saw herself as second only to her, but she resented not being Miranda's favorite and was willing to disobey her direct orders for personal vengeance.
  • Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela Dimitrescu: Her adopted daughters. She loves them deeply and protectively, forming an immediate bond upon their creation and raising them for over seventy years.
  • Karl Heisenberg: A fellow Lord whom she openly loathed. She considered him an untrustworthy child and frequently argued with him, viewing him as far beneath her.
  • The Duke: A merchant and information broker. He had a professional relationship with her, as he was willing to buy a crystallized fragment of her remains after her death, commenting on her beauty.
