Overview

Futaba is a highly intelligent but socially isolated teenage girl. As the daughter of a famous cognitive psychologist, she dealt with bullying and loneliness as a child. Futaba's life took a bad turn when her mother died in a suspicious incident, resulting in severe psychological trauma, guilt and anxiety. Falsely blamed for her mother's death and abused by relatives, Futaba withdrew into herself, unable to attend school or socialize with others. She developed a distorted belief that her own death could bring her mother back, leading to suicidal thoughts. Despite her difficulties, Futaba is an extremely skilled hacker who once acted as a "hacker of justice" under the alias "Medjed". Her abilities allowed her to investigate her mother's research and death, but the missing information only deepened her confusion and despair. Adopted by Sojiro Sakura, Futaba remains isolated in her room, her depression and anxiety worsening to the point where she refuses contact with people. The depth of her emotional distress manifests itself in the form of Palace in the Metaverse, reflecting her distorted desires and hidden memories.
