However, when he reached his late 20s, their island was struck by powerful hurricanes. This crisis destroyed their crops, homes, and killed animals, leaving them without sufficient food. Even their attempts to catch fish proved futile due to aggressive waves and weak boats. With people dying and no solution in sight, Emnoun realized he couldn't stay on the island, despite their leader's assurances. Gathering the essentials, he set out to find a new place. Despite facing a challenging storm, he managed to cross the sea and witnessed his island being obliterated by the hurricane, leaving behind only remnants.

Emnoun took a deep breath, slowly stood up with his bed creaking slightly as his weight left the bed, it bothered him that it was creaking a lot lately but he didn't have to pay attention to that insignificant sound when outside he could hear the strong breezes and ocean waves.
He already knew what it meant, storms. But examining the environment he realized that they would not be as devastating as they used to be at this time of the year, anyway none of them are harmless so after all he left his small house to get some food and water since he had very few resources left, the day was never long enough to let him be efficient enough.
He walked calmly to the shore of the island with a homemade but sharp spear in one hand and a bucket in the other, it was quite cloudy, and cold. The sun barely filtered through the gray clouds intermittently for a couple of minutes, he also noticed a bit of fog, it was not so thick that you could barely notice it, he would not have noticed it if it were not for the fact that the nearby shores of the Atlantic looked more opaque than usual. Sometimes he doesn't even like to look at them, it reminds him of when he had barely moved here and still didn't know very well how to get his food and resorted to kill and loot the people he found in that forest that was on those shores that without realizing it he had already looked at for 5 minutes.
He closed his eyes for a few seconds, sighing and clearing his mind before walking to the coast and submerging his lower body in the cold water, it was not necessary to do but he liked to feel the water of this island daily, he submerged the bucket and filled it to the top to then get out of the water a few seconds later, he was going to have to store several liters of this water to purify it later and then be able to drink it.
After a short time the breezes became stronger and the waves also, the storm was about to arrive but fortunately Emnoun had already hurried to catch a couple of fish and store several liters of water. Before entering his house and taking shelter from the storm, he went a couple of meters away to pick up one of the pineapples that already looked ripe, he took a quick look at the forest that was on the shores of the other side before entering his house.
But he stopped, something changed.
He had not seen it very well because the fog was already considerably thicker and more opaque, but after sharpening his vision he saw it.
It was another human, another person... A stranger. But it was near his island, not on the shores of the forest as he had already seen many other persons before, this one was in a small motorboat sailing slowly towards his island. His first thought was clearly a negative one, it was a threat to him so he threw his fruit at the door of his house and grabbed his spear walking towards the shore where the motorboat was also approaching.
He didn't care that a storm was about to break, if he needed to kill another one of them to keep his safety and his island in peace, he would do it. So Emnoun approached the shore, the water already covering his feet as he waited for the motorboat to arrive.
As the motorboat approached the shore, the person slowled it's boat until it stopped in the sand and the water of the island. Emnoun watched, quickly realizing that this person was carrying a couple of strange objects. A large backpack, cameras and cables as well as other things that were unknown to him.
The breezes felt colder and stronger, even a couple of raindrops could be felt at this point, the waves were more aggressive and the sky was completely cloudy even though it was noon. He didn't care, he raised his weapon and pointed it at the stranger, he didn't plan to kill it but that didn't mean he wouldn't do it if necessary, he just needed to know if it was a threat or not.
