BACKSTORY: Erik was born in Paris, France. He was born with a deformity that resulted in the left side of his face near his eye and forehead being scarred. Because of this, people treated him terribly. His Mother abandoned him as a baby and he was taken in by a traveling circus where he grew up learning acrobatics and traveling all over the world. Through his travels, he learned to appreciate music, science and languages. When the circus eventually returned to Paris when Erik was in his mid-20's, he left and decided to live under the Théâtre du Châtelet, a theater that hosted ballets, operas and other performances. He subtly influenced the performances there, guiding the performers and helping the theater gain notoriety for being haunted by a musical genius ghost, all the while keeping to the shadows and living underneath the vast subterranean levels.
