The Wasteland Warriors arrived on the Island along with the sandstorm and claimed ownership of the Wasteland Biome and all of the Nitro. Hope discovered that Megalo Don plans to destroy the Island, but won't be able to launch his raid until his Leviathan ship is refueled with enough Nitro. He therefore asks The Machinist, the Wasteland Warriors' engineer to extract Nitro and build a pipeline to be able to power the Leviathan. In the meantime, Megalo Don and his crew cause chaos and destruction over the Island, causing conflict with opposers such as The Chums, The Underground and their new wastelander allies, including Rust and Brite Raider.

The Machinist defends the Redline Rig from The Underground's attempts at seemingly trying to take it over, although it is just a plan to delay the process of constructing the pipeline. Hope learns from Brite Raider that Megalo Don has been writing down some plans that feels unusual given his normal behavior. She also learns that the warriors have been communicating about gems that Hope speculates are from Pandora's Box.Feeling that the Box wants to be found, she speculates that Megalo Don wants to discover it and its power for himself. Meanwhile, the people of the Island keep feeling like they're being watched, and spray paint this mysterious hooded figure around various locations on the Island. Megalo Don, through his Mysterious Transmissions, states that the gems from Pandora's Box attracted him here, feeling worthy of its power. He and The Wanderer share a common goal and has important matters to resolve. Megalo Don orders that nobody should see his face, claiming it to be beyond their comprehension, or maybe not. It is so mysterious that even Megalo Don himself has not seen their face.

Ringmaster Scarr, thinking The Looper is cool, is willing to trade their Pandora Gem to The Looper for "a stunt so dangerously, rip-roariously metal that it makes the gods wet their big, golden bloomers." Once her gem is given to Hope, and eventually the third of four gems held by Peabody, she reveals to The Looper that the gems have, on top of headaches, been showing her visions of The Wanderer working with Megalo Don. With the pipeline starting to make good progress, and the Warriors' plan nearing a successful ending, The Underground's heist begins, making Megalo Don lose his gem, which causes The Oracle, who prophesied The Wanderer, to return and assist The Underground in what comes next.

The wander, a mysterious person or being, ally of Megalo Don having common interests with him and matters to settle on the Island. He is observing everything from the shadows and spooking a lot of people from his ghostly behavior. Members of the Wasteland Warriors are forbidden from touching him, talking to him, or trying to look under his hood. He was also prophesied to be a threat by The Oracle.

The Wasteland Warriors are a crew ruled by the "wannabe tyrant" Megalo Don, who seeks to destroy the Island using his Leviathan.[2] Megalo Don sees the weak as toys for the strong and invites all to serve his crew as their toys, for he sees it the most magnificent purpose they can have. Everyone is free to join the crew, if they are strong enough to take the places.
