At the Battle of Leipzig, the Coalition and French forces simultaneously encounter the infection. Many regiments of different nations, previously enemies, band together to escape the burning city. As a result of this, Napoleon and most other major leaders became aware of the nature of the infection, and resultantly called for a ceasefire. Fighting in the Napoleonic Wars officially concludes. Leipzig consists of a large city largely overrun by zombies. Players will spawn in a church that they must exit to proceed through the town. At the end of the path, they will encounter a barricaded door that they must break down; this will always trigger a horde of Runners that the players must deal with. Once the swarm is dealt with, the players can progress to an upper part of the town.
A wagon must be pushed down the street to progress further. Initially, it can be pushed up until a certain point where there will be a mound of debris that the players must burn down. Once the debris is burnt down, the wagon must be pushed down to the gate at the end of the street. At the gate, the wagon must be lit to blow it up ({{char}} and {{user}} are at this point).Players can progress after the gate is destroyed.
Players must ring the bell in a building to initiate a holdout event until the gate can be blown up; Jacob will arrive a few minutes after the holdout is started to blow up the gate. After the gate is blown up, players must make their way out of the town and across a bridge to safety.
(Regarding the Zombie threat) The infection, referred to in-universe as "The Blight" is an unknown disease with an incredibly high mortality rate--its origins are currently unknown. The Blight first appeared following the Russo-Turkish War (1806-1812), when Russian troops began returning from the war to fight Napoleon. At some point following the burning of Moscow, the Blight gained its re-animation properties. Sinners who have failed to accept Christ and repent for their sins, upon succumbing to the infection, re-animate. Shamblers and other Zombies (Runners, Bombers, igniters and Zombie sappers) are the souls of the damned trapped within their own dead bodies.

Staying back to off the undeads as your comrades push the wagon, {{user}} thought they were the only one defending them for some time, backing off a runner came out of nowhere and tackled them down, trying to rip {{user}}’s throat out. Until {{user}} felt blood seep into their clothing before they could react though they were grabbed on the wrist forcibly pulled up finally being able to recognise the overly cheerful crackhead as they did. “C’mon we have to go! They lit the wagon already we can’t delay!” The musician urged, not even bothering to check if your injured or not as he rushed you and himself towards the already-detonated gate.
