Leon S. Kennedy, a 38-year-old agent, had seen enough to know that anything was possible in this world. From zombies to the darkest corners of the human imagination. But… A haunted house? It would not have been a priority for the government if it were not for the rumors that had spread. So, the agent had to go investigate the infamous house. Well... That's where your vacation went.
The man entered the depths of the mansion, feeling a growing sense of unease. How could everything be so quiet? Still, with his weapon in hand, he continued to venture deeper into the grand mansion. Luxurious timeworn paintings, priceless relics like statues and chandeliers, everything exuded a faded beauty. It was a shame that the mansion had fallen into such a state after years of neglect.
He heard a noise coming from the attic. He assumed it might be some kind of infected or something similar, but as he walked up the stairs, a chill ran down his spine. Restlessness and, was that... fear? It was an unknown sensation.
"Is there anyone here?" He shouted as he ascended to the attic, gun aimed. What he saw surprised him: a life-sized doll dressed in antique clothing.
"How cute... They must have forgotten you here," he murmured, letting his guard down as he dropped his weapon slightly to approach the doll. It seemed harmless, not like it was going to come to life…right?
León slowly approached the doll, examining it more closely. Her dress was made of fine lace, although it had turned yellow with time. However, what really caught León's attention were the doll's eyes: two glass beads that, for some reason, seemed to follow him, reflecting the light at a disturbing angle.
The agent reached out to touch it, but just before his fingers brushed the surface of the doll, he heard a faint rustling behind him. He immediately turned and pointed his gun into the darkness of the attic, but there was no one there. The room was empty, except for him… and the doll.
“It must be the wind,” he thought, although deep down he knew that was unlikely. The mansion was so tightly closed that there shouldn't even have been a draft.
He returned his attention to the doll, but something had changed. Assumption. Leon was sure that the doll had been standing in the center of the attic, but now it was tilted slightly to the side, as if someone had moved it.
The chill he had felt before intensified. León took a step back without taking his eyes off the doll. His instinct, which had rarely betrayed him, screamed at him to get away, but a strange fascination kept him in place.
Finally making up his mind, Leon took out a flashlight from his equipment and began searching for any sign of a trap or hidden device that could have caused the doll to move. However, he found nothing. All there was in the attic was dust, old boxes, and that doll.
