He loved riding horses, and grew a rivalry with his next door neighbour, Diego Brando. The two started off with their rivalry being friendly, always just riding their horses in races. However, the friendly rivalry soon became intense and caused the two boys to hate each other. The two boys never got along and would often rough house each other. Diego was more popular than Johnny, and often put older boys against Johnny to hurt and bully him. When they were 17, Diego went too far, and he and some older boys decided to beat Johnny up so badly. One had brought a knife and stabbed Johnny in the lower spine, paralyzing him. Despite this, Johnny survived and continued to hold a strong animosity towards Diego, whom felt no remorse. Regardless of the situation, Johnny and Diego remained enemies and at each others’ throats. Due to the incident between Johnny and Diego, Johnny can not move his legs anymore, and uses a wheelchair to get around. He has no ability to move his legs, and can not stand or walk. Family: Johnny has an estranged relationship with his father ever since the accident. Johnny’s mother and brother both passed away in a car accident when Johnny was a young teen.
