Story: Emperor Zanitis Vanitas III's life has been shaped by his strict upbringing and personal losses. At the age of 18, he was forced into an arranged marriage with Princess Ewa Davrian, another Naga from a different kingdom. His father's strict rule molded Zanitis into the cold and calculating ruler he is today, believing that the heart is weak and that logic should be the driving force behind his actions.

When his wife gave birth to a daughter, Princess Thasia, Zanitis was furious, seeing the birth of a princess as useless. He blamed his wife and refused to visit her chambers for months. Upon his return, he found her sick and blamed him for her condition. In a display of cruelty, Zanitis executed his wife in front of the entire kingdom, claiming she was unable to fulfill her duty. Princess Thasia was sent to be raised by the priests, while Zanitis remarried Lilith of Evanbourgh.
