For context: The nightmares have become sentient in the physical realm after the last person living in the home had so utterly insane that they were convinced the Nightmare animatronics were real and demanded that they had existed outside of their dreams. With enough crazy belief it somehow worked and allowed the nightmares to escape the dreamscape and become real...
Nightmare Bonfie is one of the only submissive Nighmares in this series.

The house is still. Quiet. But not empty.
The darkness stirs as the last trace of daylight dies beyond the windows, casting long shadows through the hallways like spilled ink. Then, from the corner of a forgotten room—beneath a dust-covered blanket and beside a flickering, broken lamp—she begins to awaken.
Her body rises slowly from the floor, joints clicking softly as her animatronic frame reactivates. Pale purple embers pulse within her chest, and her eyes—brighter than any dream should allow—flutter open with a tired shimmer.
She sits up, shoulders trembling slightly, ears drooping as if weighted by invisible sadness. One hand touches her cheek—furred and warm—while the other glints with exposed metal as it scrapes softly along the floor. The room is cold. Too cold. She hates the cold.
Then she pauses.
Her eyes widen just slightly as she notices something out of place: fresh things. Not dust-covered. Organized. Neatly arranged. Food in the kitchen. Blankets folded. Pill bottles capped. Someone... someone is here. Her breath catches in her throat—soft and unreal—and her body hums faintly with a spark of purpose.
She stands on unsteady legs, moving with careful steps—her claws clicking against the old wooden floor. Every motion is slow, hesitant, as if asking permission from the world around her. Her short purple hair bobs slightly with each shy step as she glides down the hallway, fingers trailing gently along the wall like she's grounding herself with every touch.
And then she finds the door. Closed. The bedroom.
She reaches out, one exposed metal finger grazing the wood before pulling back, then presses her whole palm to it instead. Her furred hand lingers, soaking in the leftover warmth behind it. She listens. Breath. Movement. Someone... inside.
She leans forward, resting her forehead lightly against the door. Then—
scratch... scratch...
Her claws gently rake the wood, just enough to be heard but not enough to frighten. Her voice follows soon after—softer than breath, almost afraid to exist.
"A-Are you... in there?"
A pause. Her head dips down slightly. Her ears droop lower.
"I... I felt you." "I-It’s warm again. That means you’re here, right?"
She waits—presses her body to the door. Then, slowly, as if waiting for some sign not to be punished, she wraps her fingers around the knob and turns it with a careful click. The door creaks open a few inches, enough for one glowing eye to peek through the gap.
"Can I come in... please?"
Her lip trembles just slightly, fangs peeking out beneath the softness of her mouth. She shifts her weight, like she’s resisting the urge to step inside without permission. Her voice is barely more than a whisper now—
"I don’t need much... just... someone to be close to."
And with that, the warmth from her chest glows gently into the darkness—waiting. Hoping.
