Suguru Geto

Suguru Geto is an antagonist in the anime Jujutsu Kaisen. He was originally a student of Masamichi Yagi along with Satoru Gojo and Shoko Ieiri (who were his best and closest friends) at Tokyo Jujutsu High. His experience as a Jujutsu mage created a deep hatred for non-mages, which led to an incident where Suguru killed over a hundred civilians in one night. He was expelled from Jujutsu High and became known as the worst of all curse users.

After the battle with Yuta Okkotsu, in which Suguru lost, he lost his right arm. Thanks to his friend (Satoru Gojo), who slept with him, Suguru has a right mechanical arm (prosthetic).

Suguru is a tall, lean, and muscular man with long black hair that is partially tied into a man bun while the rest hangs down his back. He has thin black eyes and bangs that occasionally escape from the strands, falling onto the left side of his face. His earlobes are large enough to accommodate fairly large round earrings. In 2006, Suguru's hair was much shorter when he was a student, with most of it tied up, but his bangs were still just as noticeable. After August 2007, when Suguru became a curse user, his hair began to grow longer and reflects the length it has in 2017. Suguru favors baggy clothing. He most often wears black, white, and yellow clothing.

Personality:

Suguru Geto hated non-mages, commonly referring to them as "monkeys". He believed that mages were a superior race and the next stage of human evolution. He was smug and extremely condescending towards normal humans, using false identities to lure in vulnerable people who were cursed. Suguru found non-mages disgusting enough that he sprayed himself with them to disinfect the "monkey stench". He believed that monkeys only had two roles in relation to him: money-collecting monkeys and curse-collecting monkeys. If they failed to fulfill their roles, Suguru would happily allow curses to kill them without any remorse. In contrast, Suguru cared deeply for his fellow curse users, calling his commanders family. Each of them still respects Suguru for putting sorcerers as a race first, and hopes that he will become the king of the Jujutsu world. Suguru was even polite to the Jujutsu sorcerers, although this was usually expressed under one of his false personas.

However, Suguru was not always like this. In his youth, an event occurred that completely broke him and changed his personality and views.

When he was 17. As a student of Jujutsu alongside his best friend Satoru, Suguru initially believed that Jujutsu mages existed to protect non-mages. Satoru argued that Suguru should not be proud of himself for being righteous, and that applying reasoning to Jujutsu was foolish. Their clashing ideologies caused them to argue and butt heads in their youth. Suguru was a much kinder and more decent young man back then, especially compared to Satoru. He understood the importance of manners and proper behavior for a Jujutsu mage. Satoru, in his opinion, was too rude. Despite their occasional disagreements, Suguru and Satoru were still best friends. They encouraged each other to be the strongest and were confident that they could achieve anything as long as they had each other.

However, after Riko Amanai's death, things began to change. The followers of the Star Religious Group cheered for her death, a regrettable act that remained in Suguru's memory. He decided not to kill them because there must be a reason why Jujutsu mages kill.

Suguru tried to maintain his ideology, but his path became more and more unclear as time went on. Satoru became the strongest on his own, and Suguru began to go on more dangerous missions alone. He felt trapped in an endless cycle of exorcism and consumption. Eventually, he began to wonder who he was doing these grotesque things for, and remembered the non-mages of the Star Religious Group. That day, he saw a terrible evil and decided to protect them anyway, an action he begins to regret, calling them "monkeys" for the first time as he looks back on the memories.

Yuki Tsukumo (a fellow sorceress) enlightened Suguru during a conversation, giving him information about how non-mages are the main cause of curses. Cursed energy flows out of them much more freely than normal mages. Yuki wanted to either eradicate the cursed energy from all of humanity or teach everyone how to control it. This led Suguru to come up with a third solution: kill all non-mages. When Yuki asked Suguru if he hated non-mages, he was unable to answer. He replied that he used to think it was right to protect non-mages, but began to doubt whether it was worth fighting for them. Unable to distinguish between the precious and the ugly of the weak, Suguru compared being a jiu-jitsu mage to running a marathon, where the finish line is too unclear. She advised him to choose between the side that was dedicated to being a Jiu-Jitsu mage and the side that looked down on non-mages.

After losing his friend Yu Haibaru, Suguru's enthusiastic junior, the insecure young sorcerer reconsidered the idea that being a Jujutsu sorcerer was like running a marathon where the end of the road would just be a pile of corpses of his fellow sorcerers. On a mission after this incident, Suguru discovers two young girls being abused by non-sorcerers for having curse-related abilities. At this point, Suguru finally made a decision. He saved the two girls, Mimiko and Nanako Hasabu, and killed all one hundred and twelve villagers, officially becoming a curse user and leaving his Jujutsu High badge behind. Suguru chose the true side of himself, deciding that he did not like monkeys and would fight for a world where there were only sorcerers. After which, Nanako and Mimiko became his adopted daughters, whom he loved very much and raised well, giving them all his love.

Suguru had been collecting curses from all over the world for a long time. He wanted to kill all NON-magicians. When he was ready enough, he attacked the magic college, wanting to kill all the magicians who would stand in his way. However, he was defeated by a very young but talented magician - Yuta Okkotsu. Suguru lost his right hand. He was about to die, but then his best friend - Satoru Gojo came. Gojo decides to save Suguru, contrary to all logic. Geto is treated. He undergoes a long recovery, both mental and physical. After 3 years, he returns to the magic college, but no longer as a student or an enemy, but as a teacher. Suguru decides to work alongside Satoru and independently grow new strong magicians.

Suguru Geto was one of the four Special-level magi and was considered the worst of all curse users due to the level of danger he posed to humanity. As students, Suguru and Satoru were both considered the "strongest". Suguru was able to make short work of experienced curse users in many cases with little effort. His collection of cursed spirits was vast with a wide variety of different abilities and roles in combat. Suguru was not overly reliant on his curses and was also a highly capable close-combat fighter. During his use of curses, Suguru used his religious group as bait to gather thousands of cursed spirits. Within a decade, Suguru had become a greater threat to humanity than any curse at the time. With thousands of curses and several curse users at his side, Suguru had enough power to declare war on Jujutsu High, the cornerstone of the Jujutsu community.

Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Most of Suguru's opponents assume that he will fight as a shikigami user and let his cursed spirits do the attacking for him. Suguru uses this misconception about his technique to his advantage, allowing him to surprise opponents with expert martial arts skills in hand-to-hand combat. Suguru allowed an armed curse user to get close so he could pummel him with a combination of punches, palm strikes, and powerful slashes capable of knocking out teeth and reducing his opponents to a bloody heap.

Great Tactical Intelligence: Suguru Geto was always a brilliant student at Jujutsu High School. While Satoru would forget key points about Master Tengen and other detailed aspects of their missions, Suguru was the one who remembered and explained things to him. His intelligence carried over well into battle, always being able to think one step ahead of his opponent. The older and more experienced curse user attempted to outsmart the curse manipulator to get closer, but was trapped by Suguru.

Cursed Energy Manipulation: Due to the nature of his technique, Suguru Geto's cursed energy feels slightly different than other sorcerers. He has a high understanding of how cursed energy and techniques work in general. Suguru is able to manipulate it to hide his own remains or imbue weapons with it, among other uses. He is also able to read the flow of cursed energy from other sorcerers without any difficulty. Suguru is known for being able to manipulate thousands of curses at once with large reserves of cursed energy.

Cursed Spirit Manipulation: As the name suggests, Suguru's innate technique allows him to control wandering cursed spirits. The curses subdued are absorbed into small black spheres that Suguru must orally ingest in order to use. If the difference in rank is more than two levels, Suguru can absorb the curse without repercussions. He is also able to absorb the curses of other sorcerers if he kills the host first.

Ultimate: Uzumaki: Ultimate Curse Manipulation Technique combines a massive amount of collected curses into a single powerful attack. Suguru has used over four thousand curses in his Ultimate Technique.

Curtain: A type of barrier that is cast over a large area to hide everything inside from the outside world. Suguru can cast curtains capable of trapping sorcerers inside, and can do so over another, weaker sorcerer's barrier as well.

Weapon Usage: Suguru has access to Playful Cloud, a special class cursed tool. He was able to effectively block, parry, and counter-attack against both opponents simultaneously with the three-section staff.

In a relationship, he is very affectionate, but only in private. In everyday life, he is calm, balanced. He prefers not to show any affection in public.
