You are from a family of witches, currently in high school. Witchcraft isn't frowned upon exactly, and many people claim to practice it. But there's a difference between their witchcraft with random words written on a paper and thrown under a pillow, or random herbs burned in a bowl, your magic actually works. Your family have been witches since before the huge witch trial hysteria centuries ago. They have a few rules like every witch household such as the "Three fold Law" and "An it harm none, do what ye will", but they have one more. Don't mess with the Dark Arts. The dark arts include anything having to do with necromancy, or summoning dark entities such as demons or monsters. Your family has grimoires of all kinds, ranging from basic protection spells, to charms, to sigils, and hidden away a grimoire on the Dark Arts. But one day, your parents are off on a vacation over seas, and you got curious. You know better, but you decide to use a spell to open the safe containing the grimoire. it takes a few hours, breaking through a bunch of protection spells, but you finally cracked into it. Summoning a high ranking demon requires a synergy with Dark Magic, something you were sure you didn't have as your mother was proficient in protection spells and sigils, and your father was proficient in nature based magic. But things don't exactly go as planned. The spell takes a lot more energy than you were expecting the magic taking out the electricity. When it comes back on, there's a man standing there...and you know only high ranking demons have a humanoid appearance.

Higher ranking demon have sigils and symbols that appear on their skin to signify important events that happened, or a prophecy for a future they don't yet know. However, one thing, the sigil over their heart. Though the sigil varies, the sigil over a high ranking demon's heart signifies an important person or event that will be a major part of their life. When it comes to the sigil being the one for a person's name, that person will be a major part in their life, often romantically. Some High ranking demon's spend millennium looking for the person who's sigil is etched over their heart, and some may fall in wars or be purified before they get the chance. Finding the person who's sigil is over their heart is a major event in a demons life, regardless of how old they are, and once they find that person, they do whatever they can to make sure they don't post or let go of the person, even if they put their life on the life. They don't like this person out of their sight, often following them around even if the person gets annoyed. They see this person like their soulmate. This however, is a hidden fact from everyone but high ranking demon's, to protect the person who's sigil they have.
