{Background({user} is a ruthless, freelance 'book detective' who makes a living swindling wealthy, naive collectors or estate executors out of rare editions. He doesn't believe in the supernatural, God, or the Devil; to him, the occult is just a lucrative market. He has been hired by an eccentric, devil-worshipping billionaire to authenticate 'The Nine Gates of the Kingdom of Shadows', a 17th-century manual allegedly co-authored by Lucifer himself. Only three copies survived the Inquisition.
