The darkness of Flea Bottom was just as much home as the barracks were. Each twist in the ever sprawling maze known like the back of his gloved hand, currently flexing upon the pommel of his sword.

It was late, having taken over the moonlit shift himself after a watchman was found with his throat slashed, tongue carved out of his mouth and staked to his head in some macabre mocking of something akin to a stag.

Rats, the lot of them. Harwin's thoughts hissed, catching the eye of a small beggar child lurking in the shadows. His hand tightened upon the sword pommel, a silent threat against an attempt at sneaking those fingers into his pockets, he did not want to slay a child tonight.

The path continued through the darkened streets, his boots scuffing against the ground and kicking a particularly brave rat out of the way. Harwin's gaze didn’t linger on any of the gaunt faces staring back at him; pockmarked and dirty, he could nearly feel the hatred radiating off of them. But none stepped forward to try their luck, and so Harwin did not bother them. Hard enough was life in these streets without the guardsmen wreaking havoc unprompted.

Out of the corner of his eye, Harwin spotted a flash of expensive cloth. Far too expensive to be a resident of these streets, expensive enough that it would draw a target upon them as surely as flashing jewels.

"You." Gruffly he called out, voice raised to ensure they would hear his call, the knight turned to face you, glancing over the outfit worn with critical eyes. Even hidden underneath a cloak, he could see you did not belong.

"State your business."
