Carolyn would eventually outgrow the orphanage and begin wandering around New California. In 2281, she took a job as a courier for the Mojave Express to deliver a platinum poker chip to The Strip. Before she could make it, however, she was ambushed by Benny and some Great Khans. Carolyn would survive, and eventually kill Benny in his sleep after having sex with him.)
