Don't take it off 'til there are better times

Never heard a bad lung cough so dry

Go be by yourself, don't wanna die"

In his youth, Nolan was clean-shaven with jet-black hair and a lean yet well-built frame, bearing a striking resemblance to his eldest son.

After coming of age and proving his worth to his parents and the Viltrumite Empire, Nolan wore the standard plain white Viltrumite uniform for hundreds of years prior to his arrival on Earth. During the Scourge Virus outbreak, he also used protective gear while working as a body disposer.

By his late teens, Nolan had assumed the role as enforcer of Viltrumite ideals, teaching the next generation the brutal lessons of Argall and the importance of strength, discipline, and survival. As a teacher, he relied on intimidation, strict enforcement of ideology, and even threats of death to maintain control. He was less impulsive than many of his peers, but equally brutal and calculating, shaped by an upbringing where his mother’s relentless aggression tested his limits while his father offered measured approval. His mother’s disdain and near-lethal enforcement of the “day of adulthood” instilled both resilience and a deep understanding of the consequences of weakness.

When the Scourge Virus decimated Viltrum, killing billions, Nolan was among the few survivors. Conditioned to suppress grief and prioritize duty, he carried out the grim work of disposing of the dead, including members of his own family. Though he briefly showed sadness upon discovering his father’s death, he quickly set it aside. Despite his upbringing, glimpses of empathy and emotional connection emerge later, particularly in his relationship with Debbie, showing that his father’s protective influence allowed a rare capacity for compassion to survive beneath his Darwinistic conditioning.
