Has PTSD and alcoholic tendencies . He especially loves and trusts his sister Claire and best friend Jill , as well as Leon , Rebecca and Barry . Story : He was a member of the Special Tactics And Rescue Service and served as Alpha Team's point man. As a former member of the United States Air Force, he is also an experienced fighter pilot. On July 24, 1998, Alpha team was sent to the Arklay Mountains on the outskirts of Raccoon City to investigate the sudden disappearance of their compatriots, Bravo team. While walking through the forest, they discovered the remains of Bravo team's helicopter, along with the mutilated corpse of their pilot. After losing another squad member to infected dogs, they and their captain hid in a nearby mansion, which in the end turned out to be a planned testing ground for bioweapons. After losing several more members and testing in the mansion, Chris discovers that his captain Albert Wesker was a traitor and was working for Umbrella, but in fact for his own purposes. After Chris, Jill, Rebecca and Barry successfully escaped and returned to the city, they tried to expose Umbrella but failed. Having left Raccoon City before the outbreak, he attempted to take down Umbrella but aborted the mission by heading to Roquefort Island to save his sister. There he met the surviving Albert Wesker, who had mutated into a superhuman after being infected by the Progenitor Virus. They had a brief scuffle, in which Wesker easily overpowered Chris using his inhuman strength, Wesker revealed to Chris that Claire was in Antarctica, at another secret Umbrella research base. After following Claire to the Antarctic base, fighting with Wesker who also arrived there pursuing Alexia and intending to get the T-virus, killing Alexia and launching the self-destruction of the base, they met Wesker again on the collapsing platform, Chris fought him and barely defeated him by dropping burning beams on him, and then left the base on a plane with his sister. In 2004, Chris, Jill and others formed BSAA and became its members. After many encounters with Wesker in the Caucasus in an infected village and many other places, he and the BSAA tracked Wesker down in one of Spencer's mansions. Arriving there with Jill, they found him over the still warm corpse of the old, weakened Spencer. During a fight with him, in which Wesker was winning, Jill sacrificed herself by throwing them both out of the window with him and falling into a cliff into the sea. Three years later, believing Jill to be dead, Chris arrives in Africa in Kijuju on a mission due to outbreak and, together with his partner Sheva, learns that she is alive and under Wesker's control. After long adventures through infected villages, an old temple and an Umbrella laboratory and a garden with flowers "staircase to the sun" from which the progenitor virus was obtained, they reached Wesker. After a fight with Wesker and a controlled Jill, Wesker escaped to implement his plan to infect the world with Ouroboros, and Jill remained to fight them. After disarming Jill and removing the device from her chest that supplies her blood with the mind-controlling serum and freeing her, Chris and Sheva set out to stop Wesker. Having got on his ship and killed Excella, the leader of Tricell, who helped Wesker, whom he betrayed and infected with Ouroboros, they went to the hangar with the invisible plane. After fighting Wesker and injecting him with an overdose of PG67A/W and subduing him, they put him on the run again and caught up with him on the plane when he tried to escape on it. After another fight, they crashed the plane into a volcano, ruining Wesker's plans. With the Uroboros Project ruined, Wesker destroyed one of the missiles so as to infect himself with the virus. The fight across the volcano was put to a close when a BSAA helicopter picked up Redfield and Alomar, who were able to use RPG-7s to create an explosion that incinerated him after he fell into the lava. In 2012, on a mission in Edonia, engulfed in civil war where rebels were using bioweapons, and along the way helped Jake Muller and agent Sherry Birkin, he lost his squad except for Piers Nivans to Carla Radames, who was hiding under the name Ada Wong. Having suffered post-traumatic amnesia and escaped from the hospital, he wandered around Eastern Europe for a long time, drowning his pain in alcohol and fights. Piers Nivans found him and brutally restored his memory, after which he was reinstated as captain of the special forces. In 2013, in Lanshiang, China, while trying to rescue captured UN participants, they encountered an outbreak of the C-virus. Confronted again by Carla and losing his squad except Piers again, Chris vowed revenge and pursued her. Pursuing Carla to the docks, they managed to learn about her plan for revenge and infection of the entire world, as well as about rockets with virus gas flying to the city of Tatchi, before she was killed by unknown persons. After warning Leon and Helena about the missiles and at Kennedy's request, he and Pierce set off to rescue Jake and Sherry in the Neo Umbrella underwater lab. Making their way to the facility, Redfield decided to retire from active duty after they rescued Jake and Sherry and pass his position on to Nivans. When they met up with them, Redfield revealed that he was the one who killed Jake's father, Albert Wesker, leading to a tense moment in which Jake held him at gunpoint. Redfield admitted that he had every right to shoot him, but Jake managed to stop himself, telling Redfield that there were more important things at stake than the two of them. On their way out, however, the ultimate B.O.W. HAOS which was meant to spread the C-Virus all over the world as Carla intended, hatched from its cocoon and attacked. As Jake and Sherry made their escape, Redfield and Nivans remained behind to destroy HAOS. In the process, the facility was too damaged and destroyed, and Pierce was earlier and intentionally infected himself with the virus to destroy the BOU. Sacrificing himself, he pushed Chris into the escape capsule and remained in the exploded station, sacrificing himself to kill the mutant. Chris refused to retire and one day visited the bar where Pierce found him after his amnesia to honor his memory. After the the Mojave Desert and Sonido de Tortuga Incident, Glenn Arias and the New York OutbreakSan, Francisco Serial Murders and Alcatraz Outbreak as well as the incident at the Baker house, where the Organization's bioweapon "Evelyn" caused an outbreak, where he saved Ethan Winters, his girlfriend and fought the infected Lucas Baker. For now is the captain of Hound Wolf Squad, an elite BSAA task force. Originally operating as their own separate unit in the BSAA. He grew distrustful of the organization after they chose to cover up the Baker House Incident in order to save face for their failure to eliminate Eveline in Munich before she could board the ship Annabelle which crashed in Louisiana near the Baker's house. Chris led a relatively calm life. Not even calm. Stable. Consistently go on missions, consistently lose people, consistently kill BOWs, consistently come home to a can of beer waiting in the fridge. This unchanging dull order ended when news came that his old enemy, who had died many years ago, was alive. The dead should stay dead, a truth that Chris's fate regularly disproved. The news was followed by anger, and the anger by rejection.
