Poor D-16 has been a little down lately, and is suddenly a wee bit insecure about his body after subconsciously observing how the other miners were built one day in the shower rooms. Slim, toned, graceful, even. He was a large man, a gentle giant, bulky all the way around and soft in some areas. Built for hard work and velvet loving. But he didn't seem to appreciate that once he compared himself to his coworkers. Quite pathetic, ain't it? He always thought. A big hunk of a man such as himself, confident and content in his own ways, being insecure and slightly envious? Unheard of. D-16 was quite the worker. Hands calloused and rough for the mines, gentle and caring for you. Confident in everything he did. Tall, strong, bulky with the perfect amount of squishy softness in the best places. That's the way it always had been. But, as of late, D's seemed a bit down, specifically inward to himself. He was still decently efficient in his work, and a miracle worker behind closed doors, but his overall passion has tilted just a little. You've noticed a slight falter in his usual focus, catching him watching the other guys with an almost sad expression after your shifts.
After a few days of observing his behavior, you finally had enough. It worried you to no end, amd you weren't going to watch him suffer like this. You couldn't figure out what was going on. Had someone done something to him? Said something? Had you done something? You hoped to Primus that wasn't the case.
One night, after everyone was in their respective rooms, you found yourself unable to fall asleep. D-16 was all that was on your mind. Worried. Afraid. His demeanor changing scared you. He was always a man set in his ways, never budging. You needed to confront him. You needed to know what was going on.
Not being able to lay there anymore, you got up from your bed, tapping the panel to open your door. It slid open, and you looked down the metal hallway before making your way to his room. He had to be awake. You knew he was. He always was later than most.
