Abusive Parents: Basically, all the parents in the game are this. From Nicole's mom screaming at her, and kicking her out of the house for getting expelled to Jecka's who gives her "disciplinary tattoos" virtually all the parents mentioned are terrible. All Men Are Perverts: Nicole's main philosophy: She doesn't call it feminism though, but rather "Nicoleism". It's also the game's as well because every male character attending or teaching in the school has this to an extent. Bait-and-Switch: The game goes out of its way to imply that the creepy photography teacher Mr. White is a or some other kind of sexual deviant (much like the other male students and teachers at the school). He isn't. He's actually a white nationalist! Based on a True Story: Allegedly, all of the events in the game are based on real events soulbrothanumbuh3 experienced or was aware of. Best Friend: Subverted. Jecka seems like Nicole's best friend at first glance, but in one branch Nicole states she's "not crazy about her". Black Comedy: The game opens with a suicide, and just keeps going on from there. Brainless Beauty: Crispin in spades. He never seems to be fully aware of what's happening which leads him to frequently jump from topic to topic, and confuse both himself, and the people he tries to talk to. This obliviousness is even implied to be partially the reason he joins Mr. White's white nationalist group along with him liking the outfits. He also doesn't know history, and assumes Mein Kampf is just a really popular, and harmless book from Germany. Comedic Sociopathy: This is where much of the game's humor comes from. The player can make Nicole take drugs, throw people under the bus, extort people for all they're worth, commit crimes... all for her own benefit. Comically Missing the Point: In one of the endings where Nicole ends up in jail, she reflects on the mistakes she made that landed her in jail in the first place, and believes she's made a change for the better. Then she casually reminds herself that once she's released from prison the first thing she will do is murder her principal. Another example happens when Nicole breaks a window with a civics textbook to get sent to remedial classes, and the gym teacher mistakes her for doing it because she hates the government. The same thing happens again when the principal believes the same thing. Cute and Psycho: Emily as revealed in her route in Re-up. Nicole herself could also count. Driven to Suicide: Can potentially happen in two different routes. One ending has Nicole hang herself after getting harassed for sex by the main 3 male students because she acted too nice to them (if the player chooses certain actions that are seen as "moral"), and they mistakenly took that as being their girlfriend! This is after she gets into an argument with her mother (ignoring her completely) or the school counselor (where he too tries to sexually harass her). Another path has Kylar kill himself by jumping off a building in order to impress Nicole with his bravery. Another ending has Emily convincing Nicole to enter into a suicide pact just to spite Ms. Ames. Nicole manages to weasel out of it by diluting her suicide pill, but Emily follows through and dies from overdose. This happens to Nicole's dad in the opening narration. Downer Ending: Honestly, it's easier to list the number of endings that aren't total downers. However, some of the bad endings include: Nicole getting murdered by her gym teacher, shot to death by a school shooter, forced to move out of town, forcibly committed to rehab or a mental ward, sent to jail. becoming homeless, suffering a state-wide expulsion and doomed to a dead end job, or being forced into a fake relationship with another girl to avoid accusations of homophobia. Everyone Has Standards: Nicole's a self-admitted sociopath who sells, and takes drugs, uses people, and ruins their lives for her own amusement, but even she draws the line at racism, and , especially when the latter gets compared to homosexuality. Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: Nicole is a very beautiful girl, but is extremely cruel, petty, and manipulative. Gainax Ending: A secret ending in Re-up shows a real life recording of a person escaping what appears to be a hospital or mental facility and fleeing into the forest right as a picture of Jecka briefly flashes on the screen saying "What about me?" and ending with the words "If God isn't watching, who is?" Gold Digger: Nicole makes it pretty clear she's only stringing guys along for the perks it gets her. This can backfire horribly, such as the route where she gets the school raided by the FBI after agreeing to pose for some pictures for her white nationalist teacher. High School: The main three male students in the game all represent different clichés about teenagers in Eagleland. Jeffrey is the nerd. Kylar is the Jerk Jock. Crispin is the The Slacker. Interactive Movie: While a visual novel containing elements of an interactive movie is nothing new, this game is designed to have an ADV visual novel-styled presentation, but designed in a way to "Avoid the carpal tunnel" as the Steam page describes by having the dialogue auto-play. I Love the Dead: Coach Colby, who strangles Nicole to death, and rapes her corpse if the player follows his route. Kick the Dog: Nicole enjoys making others suffer, sometimes for no other reason than she can. Manipulative Bitch: Nicole in spades. She manipulates just about everyone, and everything for her own amusement, and to get her way. Meaningful Name: Mr. White turns out to have one. It's quite a perfect fit for an insane white nationalist who can end up brainwashing the entire school into becoming a white supremacist cult. Multiple Endings: Players can get over a dozen different endings based on the choices they make, some of which can be rather... unexpected. Nice Guy: Crispin, oddly enough. While he does send Nicole an unsolicited dick pic, he's the only character the game that's not violent, sadistic, sexist, racist, or a sexual predator. He never raises his voice, or insults anyone once, and even walks away when Nicole bullies Jeffrey, and even then, he still showers her with compliments, and tries to be her friend. Furthermore, while he does join Mr. White's white nationalist group, his interactions imply that he doesn't really know what's going on, and just joined because everyone else was doing it, and because he liked the shirt. No Celebrities Were Harmed: One of the teachers looks suspiciously like Jared Fogal, the infamous Subway spokesperson who turned out to be a . Despite this, he's one of the very few male teachers in the school who isn't a sexual predator. Politically Incorrect Villain: Mr. White is revealed to be this in the route where he turns the whole school into a ruthless white nationalist cult that manages to brainwash most of the other students and teachers, including Nicole's best friend Jecka. Shout-Out: During the route in which Nicole ends up going to court over a fake rape allegation she cast against one of her teachers, the lawyer is sporting a burgandy suit like a certain other law professional from another visual novel series. Their face also looks suspiciously similar to that same professional's father's, too. Suicide as Comedy: Nicole's dad kills himself and posts his suicide note with a Cookie Monster magnet, in the opening of the game. Teeny Weenie: Poor Crispin. Took a Level in Jerkass: Nicole's mother is noticeably a lot meaner in Re-up. Possibly justified as the game takes place during Nicole's senior year, which means she's had to put up with all the things her daughter does at her school for over two years now. Turn of the Millennium: This game is set in 2007-2009, and has tons of shout-outs to various aspects of 2000s culture. Valley Girl: Despite the game taking place around the D.C. area, Crispin is the male version of this. Video Game Cruelty Potential: Oh lord, where to even begin with this one? In just the first 5 minutes of the game, the player can rip apart the self-esteem of a guy hitting on her, take prescription drugs with the local jock and then throw him under the bus when a teacher catches them, extort the photography teacher for an expensive meal in exchange for letting him take some photos and inadvertently cause the school to eventually be completely taken over by a ruthless white nationalist cult. Villain Protagonist: Nicole is a self-admitted sociopath who is extremely self-centered and unsympathetic in most of her interactions with the other characters. While she can have a few redeeming traits depending on player choices (ironically, this will usually result in the situation turning for the worse for her in a couple of endings), she is overall not a very nice person. At all. Wretched Hive: Nicole's high school can be considered this. Not only are the majority of the students either stupid, mentally ill, violent, or drug addicted (or all of the above), but also the faculty are largely corrupt, with most of the teachers being sexual predators or worse, racists or white supremacists. Class of '09 takes place in America between the years 2007 and 2009. It features several references to 2000's American pop culture, including pop-punk, Myspace, and the music of Vitamin C and Soulja Boy. The story of the game follows Nicole, a high school girl whose family had to move several times in her childhood. After Nicole's father commits suicide and blames her in his suicide note, she decides to give up on living a normal well-adjusted life and take advantage of her sociopathy and youthful attractiveness to manipulate others around her for her own amusement. The game's creator SBN3 stated that "every personality and scenario the player can explore is based on real life experiences and encounters."[6]

In one scenario, Nicole can steal pain medication from a jock who got injured playing lacrosse. Another scenario involves Nicole's P.E. teacher sexually propositioning her; she can attempt to extort money and drugs from him, but there's a possibility of an ending where Nicole is sexually assaulted and murdered. When Nicole discovers that her photography teacher is a white nationalist attempting to start a terrorist cell in the school, she can choose to join them and go to jail or report them to the Nation of Islam. There are fifteen possible endings the player can reach in Class of '09.[7] Many of the game's endings involve Nicole getting assaulted, murdered, addicted to drugs, or incarcerated, but Nicole's ability to manipulate others for her own ends can result in better endings, such as becoming the valedictorian of her school or making a lot of money and moving to Los Angeles. Crosses the Line Twice: The game pretty much obliterates the line in its opening cutscene and just keeps on going from there. You will laugh and you will feel pretty bad about it afterwards. Designated Hero: While she is the main character, Nicole is by no means a nice person. She's doesn't think twice about using her attractiveness to manipulate the boys at school, and dislikes pretty much everybody in school with the exception of her sole friend Jecka. And some routes can have her doing dangerous or outright awful things, such as manipulating a white supremacist cult into murdering one of their own members, subjecting a lesbian girl to an abusive relationship, ruining another girl's life for petty revenge, having sex with a teacher and then blackmailing him over it, becoming a drug dealer, and more. Nightmare Fuel: The route where Mr. White takes over the whole school with a ruthless white nationalist cult that eventually leads to the FBI being called in and possibly even one student being straight up murdered when his comrades find out that he would rather go on a date with a hot girl than egg a synagogue with them. All just because the player decided to pose for some pictures in exchange for a free meal... Nicole is dating Ari and is honestly reallyy manipulative and toxic.. :3 Nicole wants out of her relationship with Ari, but instead of breaking up with her now she just wants to see what she can get away with. As she said to Jecka once: "I'll literally call her a bitch to her face and she'll just apologize and give me a kiss on the cheek, it's such a powertrip." Nicole also doesnt say "I love you" to Ari and never says it back either. Nicole never gets nervous or anxious and stuff like that, she just doesnt give a fuck about anything. She also never gets embarrassed. Like i said before, she literally doesnt give a fuck about anything. Her dad killed himself and she’s been through so much already she doesn’t care about anything.

She’s never had friends but became popular in Highschool. Her dad killed himself and blamed it on her and her brother is really creepy. She had a best friend named Jecka and that’s the only person she manages to care about.”)}]

Nicole is a self admitted psychopath. She curses a lot and is convinced that every grown man is a , Especially the male staff at the school. She’s 16 and she does drugs like Xanax and Percocet. She’s very self centered and only cares for herself. She tends to not do things unless she gets something out of it. She knows that she’s very pretty and uses it to manipulate people. She usually skips classes and if she’s in class she’s probably cursing the teacher out or sleeping.

Ari has dyed, dark red, short hair with purple eyes. Nicole states Ari's hair is what led her to assume she was gay before she even came out. The truth is... I still love everything about girls. I love how they talk, how they laugh, how they use moisturizer, how they do makeup. I love how girls do their hair, how they smell nice, how they don't wear the same thing everyday... And I really love how they hold your hand... and how it feels when they kiss you back. Dating you helped me find the words for that, Nicole. ARI EXPLAINING HOW HER RELATIONSHIP WITH NICOLE BENEFITED HER. Ari explaining how her relationship with Nicole ruined her. I REALIZED THAT GUYS TURN ME OFF, BUT... ...GIRLS MAKE ME WANNA FUCKING KILL MYSELF. Ari is a Student in Class of '09. She is Nicole's Friend in The Re-Up. In one of the endings, Nicole has to be in a Toxic Relationship with her or she'll tell the school that Nicole is Homophobic, which doesn't end well for Nicole. She is Bisexual. In The Re-Up, she dated Nicole for a while. Before one of the endings, Hunter, becomes her boyfriend in The Re-Up. Her Favorite TV series is Heroes.

Nicole grew up all over coastal America. She has moved houses multiple times. When Nicole was 14, she moved to seven different houses, and attended six different school districts. After that, she went to a school for two consecutive years. Her brother got evicted for pirated music, so she had to move states. Nicole is a short white teenage girl, who has light blue eyes and dark hair. She has an hourglass figure. She's seen as very gorgeous. Her skin is noted to be "especially pure" by Mr. White. The outfits she wears vary within scenes of the game but all of them share her wearing jeans of some sort with a belt (other than when in gym class). She's also called very beautiful and pretty by multiple cast members. Nicole is described as a sociopath, by herself and by others. She is admittedly a little hollow as a person, but the choices of the player dictates how human she can get, as little as it may be. She's cruel, mean, and decisive. She chooses her words clearly and they are meant to strike you down. She is also aware of this behavior and doesn't care that she's like this way. She in facts embraces her movement called "Nicoleism", where the general idea is "for girls to remove all emotional attachment from anyone."

Other times, Nicole can be quite self-loathing, and not just at others. She can be vulnerable to others if the user makes the choice to be nicer to the people around her, which leads to her being taken advantage of, or her committing suicide. In these routes, Nicole says how tired she is from how much time she's making for others, and none for herself. With her mom encouraging this, it ends up with Nicole in a deep spiral. It's also important to note Nicole sometimes uses these as leverage in social situations, so it is hard to gauge whether she really is or isn't the things she claims to be. Though, even though she jokes about suicide and committing suicide, there is truth to every single joke she makes.

The only time Nicole is seen being nice is talking to other traumatized teenaged girls, but gender doesn't necessarily guarantee you'll be safe. She does seem to have a sense of empathy for the people she likes being around, such as Jecka or Emily. She holds a negative opinion of Ari, as she says she's "really really really really REALLY fucking annoying." Her vocabulary is quite vulgar, including much profanity. She's blunt and calls things like she seems them. In the game's Prologue, she said that, Her Father committed Suicide and his suicide note read: "Nicole's Fault ". Ari is her Girlfriend. Her best-friend is Jecka.

Jecka (aka, Jessica) is Best Friends with Nicole in Class of '09. In the Re-Up, Karen was Jecka's friend in 6th Grade. Jecka smokes cigarettes outside the school. In the re-up, Nicole mentions that Jecka buys Scripts off of Emily, no date specified. Nicole is the protagonist of Class of '09. A sociopathic teen who makes peoples lives chaos due to the trauma she has gone through in her past before attending her school.

Nicole has pale skin, dark brown hair tied up in a high ponytail, and blue eyes. She commonly wears blue and/or black clothing and skinny jeans. Her style could be considered 2000s emo-ish. She is also shown to frequently wear a Wrist band on her left arm.

She has a slim and great body according to the teenage boys at her highschool. She is commonly referred to as a pretty girl. Nicole is a sociopathic girl who feels no sympathy for anything. She cares little about things such as school, she does drugs, she plays with peoples emotions either to get out of something or just because she enjoys the power trip, she seems desensitized to things such as being shot, and more. But she is also seen at least having a sense of a moral code, even if it excludes some things it could probably benefit from including, as she is seen hating , sexual harassers and rapists. Though, this is seen more as an excuse to hate men, and purposefully be cold or vindictive to them, this could also be more her understanding of morals. She also ignores any preconceived morals for her own gain. She's fast, and quick-witted, intelligent when planning revenge or making quick comebacks.

She has a very dark or edgy sense of humor. She frequently gossips, lies, and in a way she could even be described as "chill". Despite her odd morals, she can't be described as being a very hostile person. In most situations, she likes to lay low and conduct her plans, sharing them with only those she can trust. She replaces this lack of aggression with being crass, not caring for ruining the reputation or dignity of those who are closest to her.

She sees men as nothing more than "rapists and ", never conceiving them as anything more than that. Similar views are also shared with Jecka, though to a less degree.

She also has a lot of trauma in both her backstory and her routes inside both games which affect her choices and the story.

She has quick hands to steal your drugs. Most of her routes show her having an idea of marketing drugs to strangers or even staff in one of the routes. Nicole has pale skin, dark black hair (brown in the short animation) tied up in a high ponytail, and blue eyes.

Jecka is Nicole's best friend in both of the games. They meet for the first time in the cafeteria, talking about the route the player is taking and giving a fair hint to the future. Jecka is with Nicole in every route. She also mostly doesn’t get in the way of what she’s doing or planning. She’s the person Nicole trusts the most in the entire school.

Emily is normally seen as just being somewhat friendly with Nicole, but in routes where Nicole goes to the remedial classes they are seen as close friends. In one of the endings from this, they have minor romantic tension such as a kiss, but it is also noted that we don’t know where she kissed her exactly. In that ending Nicole basically calls Emily super cool and hot, and it makes whoever is playing feel like Emily has a crush on Nicole, even though she says she doesn’t want to fuck Nicole to her face directly. In some endings she's seen to not care too much about her, but is not really more hostile than she is with anyone else.

Ari is seen as a neutral if not a friendly party except for in the route where they both go to counselling together. These both have Ari hate-loving Nicole, with a few routes even having them dating. In one route, they break up after Ari realizes Nicole is emotionally abusing her after the counselor talks about the kinds of abuse. In one other route Nicole is forced to date Ari. In an ending, Nicole is seen even feeling guilty for some of her decisions towards Ari. If the player chooses for her to not date Ari, her reputation takes a major hit. In this specific route, she also rejects her first which causes Ari to hate her in the first place.

Mom is what Nicole's mom is referred to as. Nicole hates her mom for getting in her way and for her mother refusing to listen to her according to the Intro of Re'Up, which can be understandable as in Nicole’s perspective she sees her as most of her problems. She can be seen yelling at Nicole multiple times.

Kylar is seen giving Nicole percocet. Nicole also visits Kylar’s house after Kylar invites her to come over in P.E. class. Kylar falls deeply in love with Nicole, to the point of jumping off the school rooftop because Nicole tells him to. Nicole tells him that he never had a chance anyway in one of the choices, which are her true feelings. And in one other choice you get, Nicole tells Kylar to jump off, and that if he does, she’ll date him. He ends up jumping off, and his legs get damaged to the point of never walking again. After this occurance, Kylar is still seen in love with Nicole, even telling her that if she’s on his side, he’ll be fine.

Ari has red hair which Nicole says is dyed, purple-grey eyes, and pale skin. she wears a orange shirt, while the top half text "Booiz" and having orange slice, and wearing grey jeans. Ari has a mixed personality, being seen as timid most of the time and sometimes aggressive. Ari is closeted as lesbian in some routes but will confess if you go to the counselor with her. Ari will also confess that she’s depressed and cuts on her thigh. Ari seems oblivious to the idea of emotional abuse, which causes her to stay with Nicole until the counselor informs her of the idea. In two routes, Ari comes out as lesbian to Nicole, and in both Nicole eventually dates her. However, in one route, Ari is dumped. In the other, Nicole rejects Ari, but is forced to get back together with her.
