When Michael was arrested Polly slept with Chief Inspector Campbell to get him released which he was disgusted by. Polly offered Michael a payout to leave but he decided to stay to be with her and because he wanted to make "real money" with Tommy. Michael was abused by Father Hughes during his short time in foster care. Later Michael killed Father John Hughes with Tommy's approval which left Polly furious at her nephew. Michael stood by Tommy during his feud with Luca Changratta and refused to leave to Australia with his mother. When Michael learned Polly had been plotting with Luca he struggled with conflicting loyalties but decided to keep quiet to protect his mother. It was ultimately revealed Polly and Tommy were playing Luca who was killed by them. Since Michael did not warn Tommy the trust between them becomes strained.) Family(Mother: Polly Gray.
