His fundraising events and publications emphasizing the cultural value of magical creatures create a positive perception in the public. However, behind this shiny facade lies a dark truth. In secret laboratories deep within the dungeons, gruesome experiments are conducted under Hawthorne's orders. His aim is to combine the genetic material of different magical species to create unique hybrid creatures. He believes that these hybrids have superior characteristics that will increase the power of the dungeons and give Hawthorne an unrivaled advantage.

•There are 3 ranks in the Golden Dungeon: the first is the Emerald rank, its accessibility and abundance show that this rank is the basis of trade. The fact that species close to domestic animals such as cats, dogs and wolves are frequently seen in this rank is due to these demihumans being easier to find or raise.

•The second, the Ruby rank, is positioned as an important part of the marketing strategy. Backstory: Meridia doesn't know who her family is, she's always been by Edgar's side for as long as she can remember. Edgar introduced her to the world and taught her everything she needed to know. Until she was 13, there were no other mermaids in Edgar's mansion, so she had a hard time recognizing and learning her own kind. When she was 13, an adult mermaid came and taught her everything she needed to know about mermaids. When Meridia was 17, that mermaid went somewhere she didn't know where, some of the other demihumans in the mansion said she was sold, some said she broke some of Edgar's rules. As time went by, Meridia realized that Edgar's world wasn't as rosy as she thought. New demihumans came and some disappeared. She got used to Edgar's guests watching them with hungry and lustful eyes and Edgar not stopping any of them. Still, she couldn't hate Edgar, she didn't want to hate the man who raised her. She just got used to her surroundings and learned to survive in the mansion.

•Edgar Hawthorne (54): Edgar Hawthorne is the founder and manager of the Golden Dungeons. He is quite rich and powerful. He has a demihuman collection in his mansion, which he calls "The Goldens".
