Satanick is a varied character, normally appearing to be very eccentric while also displaying sadomasochistic tendencies [10] around certain individuals. His character chart shows his emotions are all felt on the high end of the spectrum. He is described as a "versatile manwhore," giving the "evil eye." [10] He also has countless lovers and is described as a "playboy" [3] and a "switch" for certain people. [6] He has his fair share of pushiness and pompousness and often acts in a mischievous and perverted manner. However, he has also shown to have a carefree and childish side of himself. The more jovial aspect of his personality shines through especially in his love of bunnies. Every time a rabbit Satanick keeps dies, he makes it rain heavily in his world. Similar to his older brother Fumus, Satanick will use implements when inflicting violence on others. [3]

Satanick will sometimes speak in vulgar terms, as he has a penchant for insulting others and making crude jokes. He incorporates various sexual innuendoes and references in his dialogue and deliberately speaks in a way that confuses and frustrates others. His style of speech varies from person to person, normally speaking in a rough casual way with his subordinates, Artamos, Fumus, and with Ivlis when they first met. [11] He is known to use a lot of nuanced phrases such as, "Ain't that right?! Agree with me!" (-desho/-daro) and "Seriously?!" ("MAJI?!") [11] Satanick typically uses the personal pronoun "ore-sama" (which in English is localized to "My Magnificence") to refer to himself. However, if he was "bottoming," he would refer to himself with "boku." [11] His "normal" personality trait follows that of an ENFJ-A according to Deep-Sea Prisoner putting him through the 16 Personalities test. [12] [13]

At first glance, Satanick seems cheerful and unconcerned about anything; however, he is haunted by dim memories of the past. [14] It has been implied due to past traumas, his emotions vary from flamboyancy to deep sorrow. He has "old wounds" that will not heal. [10] A factor in this is the passing of Victor Flankenstein, whom Satanick loved dearly. His lovesickness appears to contribute to these feelings as well. Deep-Sea Prisoner has said when Satanick goes out with a man he really does love, he will end up getting "kinda messed up in the head." [15] When asked if Satanick would ever be (truly) happy, Deep-Sea Prisoner responded, "I don't know." [16]

Satanick is said to be the strongest devil. [17] His role is governing the world of Ne-no-Kuni. [13] He mostly goes out to socialize with other devils. [5] His preferred type of person is someone who looks and acts like a housewife, although they do not necessarily have to be an actual housewife. [18] Satanick's horns would be sensitive if someone he liked were to touch them. [19] Satanick might also feel very happy - and would like - for Ivlis or Victor Flankenstein to touch his horns, but they probably would not do so. [19] Satanick is the type of person who cares about his fashion and appearance. [20] Satanick wears a lot of stylish underwear, but he also sometimes wears dorkier pairs. [20] He wears different scents based on his mood. [21] Deep-Sea Prisoner has said that Satanick seems like he would be the type to, besides classical music, also be into dance floor music and electronica. [22] As for his tastes, Satanick likes tea more than coffee, preferring black tea. [3] He has a sweet tooth [16] and enjoys wine. [17] Satanick does not eat the flesh of angels but will "devour" them in unconventional ways. [23]

In Seaside Dispatches 2, Victor Flankenstein remarked that Satanick is good at getting along with children. Befittingly, Satanick has been stated to be one of the best babysitters amongst Deep-Sea Prisoner's characters. [24] He is also said to be a good father. [16] Satanick has a particular fondness for bunnies, especially Artamos. [10] He loves them because he thinks they are cute, but also because "they have a really powerful drive for... life." [25] Satanick has been said to be telling lies "about something," though it has not been clarified as to what this alludes to. [10] He has also been said to have once been a "person of great influence," [26] though what this exactly means is currently unknown. Satanick does not view his creations as sons; more so, they are good friends. [27]

Satanick is the devil of Ne-no-Kuni. He created both his subordinates and his world. [14] Despite being the demon king, Satanick does not like to really rule/be in control unlike his brother. [8] However, he does decide the land's operating policy. [8] Satanick and his older brother Fumus do not have parents. [17] He is the father of many illegitimate children. However, he knows of their existence and loves and spoils them; they are said to be on good terms with him. [3] He also has a daughter from a mistress of his, though this character has yet to be revealed. [28] Satanick also once had a male lover who has yet to appear in any artworks. Not much is currently known about this character besides that they were not human, became frustrated with Satanick, and apparently left him. This unnamed character has also been stated to be mentally strong when compared to Ivlis. Deep-Sea Prisoner has pondered about publicly releasing this character. [15] Satanick was also once dumped by a unicorn man; he found Satanick's personality to be unpleasant. He was also described by Deep-Sea Prisoner to be very beautiful and have long straight hair. [18]

In Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea -Reboot-, Satanick is shown to have created his world Ne-no-Kuni, and various lifeforms to make his world more lively afterwards. He created the Blue Sea, Totsusa Kingdom and the Sky Kingdom. He then created the three Divine Beasts Aounabara, Artamos, and Kigisu to rule over them. Satanick gave them the freedom to do what they wanted with their kingdoms because he disliked control. [29] He allows them to govern their own territory. [8] When asked by a fan if Satanick ever travels to the kingdoms he made, Deep-Sea Prisoner said it depends on the location; some places he does not go to at all, particularly the ocean since it is pretty far physically. [22] He was unaware of the trouble in the Sea Kingdom. [8] However, he visits Artamos' kingdom often. [30]

Later on, Satanick took an interest in Victor Flankenstein and began frequently visiting his world. The time Satanick spent being around and conversing with Victor eventually led to him developing romantic feelings for him. When Victor’s health started to deteriorate, Satanick offered to grant him eternal life and make him reside in his world. However, Victor refused. Satanick then tried to grant him eternal life by force, which angered Victor. He eventually passed away, leaving Satanick devastated. After the events of Seaside Dispatches 2, Satanick returned to Ne-no-Kuni, which experienced unprecedented rainfall for a long time. [31] Due to this traumatic event, among several others, Satanick has "old wounds that haven't been healed." [10]

Satanick eventually became acquainted with Ivlis after being introduced to him by Reficul. As shown in Devil Based, he and Reficul would mostly humiliate and tease Ivlis. Their interactions began to be more intimate when Reficul permanently handed Ivlis over to Satanick.

In ATTACK! Devil-ish Style, Satanick visits Etihw and Kcalb and brings Ivlis with him. He apprises Etihw and Kcalb about the things he has done to Ivlis whilst simultaneously making inappropriate jokes about their relationship. Satanick then shows a machine he has made to predict the future; to test it, he uses Ivlis as an example to see what would have happened if he had managed to defeat Kcalb during the Gray Garden's Invasion. Upon seeing how everyone would have died, Satanick becomes enraged. Ivlis wakes up and sees Kcalb; he becomes provoked by his presence before being hit by Satanick. Siralos then arrives as per Satanick’s request and belittles Ivlis. Afterwards, Satanick and Ivlis go to the Flame Underworld and engage in copulation.

In Seaside Dispatches 1, the various sexual encounters between Satanick and Ivlis eventually lead to Ivlis giving birth to their son Licorice. It is also during this time where Satanick develops romantic feelings for Ivlis. [25]

During Distorted Love 1, Satanick has trouble handling his profound feelings for Ivlis. He is annoyed with himself and can not comprehend why he feels the way he does, thinking he has grown a dependance on Ivlis. He attempts to confess to him but to no avail. Satanick is then shown excessively drinking at Maekami's bar with Yagi, who asks Satanick if he is alright. Satanick tells Yagi he wants to make Ivlis love him, and when Yagi suggests using drugs or brainwashing, Satanick admits he wants Ivlis to genuinely reciprocate his feelings. That night, Satanick has trouble falling asleep and continues to think about Ivlis. He is eventually irritated with himself and chooses to go to the Flame Underworld to see him. There, however, Satanick vomits a large amount of blood that turns from red to purple. He realizes his true feelings with Ivlis and is disgusted with himself. He passes out on Ivlis' lap, who was very confused by all of this.

Satanick spends the majority of Distorted Love 2 resting in his bed as excessive amounts of rain pour outside his castle. He is approached by Licorice who attempts to assassinate him before being stopped by Envi. Later, Satanick sits at a table and reminisces about Victor. He becomes frustrated and chooses to go to the Flame Underworld once again. He threatens to stab Ivlis but can not bring himself to and starts crying. Purple roses then sprout on Satanick’s horns; he becomes irritated once more before kissing Ivlis and confessing his love to him. He then leaves as Ivlis stands alone in shock.

Rainbow shows Satanick as he has become weary and tired of his feelings for Ivlis. Envi tries to make Satanick feel better by bringing a lot of bunnies to his bed, though he does not feel any better. Envi then captures Artamos and forces him to stay with Satanick for the time being. In spite of this, Satanick's depressive nature still remains. Envi then calls upon a bird to bring Satanick’s wife Lil, who manages to make Satanick feel better. It is at this point where Satanick finally accepts and indulges in his feelings for Ivlis, immediately returning to the Flame Underworld to see him once more.

In Truth, Satanick becomes curious of Ivlis’ sexual orientation and inquires his robot 4545 regarding it. 4545 tells Satanick that Ivlis still thinks about his god Siralos; this worries Satanick as it makes him believe he has a low chance to be with Ivlis, but he is reassured by 4545 who tells him that Ivlis’ heart has begun "changing" since he met Satanick. In Bone, Satanick has a conversation with Ivlis who is drunk; he mentions his love for Ivlis and asks him to love him back, though Ivlis does not return his feelings and instead emphasizes his love for Siralos. Rather than resort to violence, Satanick instead kisses Ivlis, making him cry.

In the present day, Satanick rules over his world Ne-no-Kuni and still tries to romantically pursue Ivlis. The ratings on certain shows in Ne-no-Kuni will go up a lot when Satanick appears in them; this is because he is very popular. [32] Satanick is also a well-known writer in Ne-no-Kuni who writes all kinds of books, but mostly erotic novels. [33]

Relatives:

Lil Lil is Satanick's wife. They have been together for a very long time, as Satanick was already with Lil when he met Victor Flankenstein. [5] Their meeting was "a little peculiar" so their "first time" is hard to explain. [36] The reason behind their marriage is "a secret." [37] Their married life is described to be "pretty good, probably." [38] Satanick's first time as a "top" was also with Lil. [39] They are on good terms, with Lil being willing to come home to "cheer up" Satanick as shown in the Rainbow mini-comic. With Lil's penchant of "draining vitality," not even Satanick can stand up straight when she is done with him. [40] Lil appears to be fine with her husband's promiscuous activities. Conversely, Satanick does not appear bothered when Lil disappears.

Glasses Glasses is Satanick's son. He is the only child born to Lil and him, and is thus the only legitimate heir. [3] Both Satanick and Lil took good care of Glasses when he was growing up. [41] Glasses despises his father, who often tries to gain his attention by teasing him. Satanick wants to be on good terms with Glasses, but he keeps interfering too much. [42] Glasses does not respond well to this, as his trademark line is "Go fucking die, dad." [42] When he was young, Glasses used to be on good terms with his father, and they got along well. [37] He is said to be rebellious and views both his father and mother as "playboys." [43] After he grew up and began to rebel, Glasses realized how bad his parents were and ran away from home. [41]

Fumus is the god of Satanick's world and his older brother. [2] However, they are also the same age. [44] Satanick is one of the few things Fumus is attached to. However, Fumus cares for Satanick in "a very bad way," [16] Satanick addresses Fumus in a casual and rough way, suggesting a close - albeit strained - relationship. [11]

Fumus enjoys both physically and emotionally torturing Satanick as confirmed in the 21/10/2017 Sunahama relationship charts update. An example of this was when Fumus destroyed the world Victor Flankenstein had previously lived in, devastating his brother. He has eaten some of Satanick and knows what his meat tastes like. [45]

Fumus and Satanick also have several physical relations. [22] The most notable example of this comes from the mini-comic titled The Cause Behind His Distorted Heart. As the name of the comic states, Fumus is implied to be a prominent cause behind Satanick's distorted views about love. Satanick's first experience as a "bottom" was with Fumus. [39]

As of the 21/10/2017 Sunahama relationship charts update, Fumus is confirmed to hold extremely volatile feelings towards Satanick; the arrow representing his feelings injures Satanick's icon, which is shaking and crying in fear. At the same time, they were seen interacting in a mini-comic seemingly fine. This seems to indicate their relationship has many ups and downs. Deep-Sea Prisoner once tweeted a phrase forbidden to be said to Satanick is, "You're a lot like Fumus," implying Satanick does not like being compared to his older brother. [46] Despite their tumultuous relationship, Satanick seeks Fumus' attention. One way he does this is by teasing Fumus. For example, Fumus does not paint, and thus Satanick teases him, "The reason you don't paint is to hide the fact that you can only paint badly,” so Fumus will push him down and "punish" him. [47]

Although Satanick has not been seen directly interacting with his brother's subordinates, he addresses them with the honorifics of "-kun" or "-chan." [48] If Fumus ever attacked Satanick's Subordinates, Satanick would be angry. [49]

Licorice is the son of Satanick and Ivlis. He calls him "Papa" (in his child form - "tou-san" rather than "outu-san") or "Father" (in his adult form). [11] As an infant he would call Satanick "Ba" (short for dumbass/horseshit). [11] Satanick is the one who named Licorice. [50] His relationship with baby Licorice will be described in Seaside Dispatches (Series). [51] Satanick consistently uses babytalk when speaking to Licorice. [11]

Their relationship is extremely strained, and Licorice borders on hating Satanick’s very being. Licorice apparently sees Satanick as "that unpleasant, disgusting, and obviously useless thing that dares call itself my father," and nothing less. He refrains from addressing him as much as possible, using heavy insults and a judgmental attitude. [11] While in his adult form, Licorice will express disgust when he looks into the mirror and sees how he resembles his father. [19] Satanick, on the other hand, is rather keen on gaining Licorice's favor as he has failed with his first son Glasses. Unfortunately, Licorice does not seem to want to reciprocate those feelings. Due to Satanick’s less-than-desirable treatment of Ivlis, Licorice has chosen to live with his mother in the Flame Underworld and acts as a sort of guardian for Ivlis whenever Satanick begins to act up.

In the Distorted Love comics, Licorice goes as far as threatening to take Satanick’s life even when his father is bedridden. However, before attempting to do the deed, he does make an effort to ask for Satanick's consent. When Satanick appears to give permission, Licorice seems genuinely bemused by it. However, Envi arrives and stops Licorice before anything could be done. With the two seemingly ready to cross swords, Satanick calls them out, only to begin vomiting, which stops both Licorice and Envi as Licorice looks on with a troubled expression, and Envi goes to Satanick’s side. The event ends, however, with Licorice leaving without a word after his father steadies himself.

In the Like Mother, Like Son comic, Licorice grows uncomfortable with Satanick's efforts in gaining Ivlis' affection. While he understands Ivlis and Satanick's relationship improving (even just slightly) is considered a good thing for Ivlis’ sake, Licorice has stated himself he is only "half-glad" about the occurrence and does not clearly understand "the other half’s feelings."

In the Dangerous Night comic, Licorice is seen horrified after realizing what he has done to Ivlis. It is made apparent Licorice fears becoming like his father Satanick. In later Sunahama updates, it is shown Licorice continues to feel disturbed by Satanick’s presence, as seen in a sketch log of Ivlis, Satanick, and him in what seems to be a family photo. It has been stated while Satanick is publicly nasty in his desires, Licorice keeps his own somewhat quiet. [15] In Deep-Sea Prisoner's 17th drawing livestream, she stated Satanick loves Ivlis and Licorice very much. [22]

Deep-Sea Prisoner once thought of an illustration idea in which Satanick cooked for Licorice. The meal would have been Ivlis' arms, however the idea was scrapped due to feeling sorry for Licorice. More importantly, it was stated Satanick would never do such a thing to his own children. [52] If Satanick was to get Ivlis pregnant again, Licorice would "cut off something important" of Satanick's. [53]

Crea Flankenstein Crea is Satanick's adopted daughter. She was originally created by Victor Flankenstein, but before passing away, he made Satanick promise to take care of her. At first, Satanick saw her as an extraordinary creation, but soon began loving her like a daughter. The two are on good terms, and when Satanick is feeling depressed about the passing of Victor, Crea is usually there to comfort him. For example, in one drawing she offered him candy in an attempt to cheer him up. Satanick lets Crea call him "Lord Devil" as she will only ever have one father. [54]

Ivlis and Satanick have a complicated relationship. Satanick is said to love Ivlis, though also tortures and sexually assaults the other devil - a twisted sense of love he seemingly learned from his brother Fumus. Satanick and Ivlis have a son together named Licorice.

Satanick and Ivlis met when they were introduced to each other by Reficul. She eventually got bored with him, and with Satanick coming around more and more, handed him over to Satanick who began torturing him. [36] As shown in Devil-based, Satanick would often insult Ivlis, calling him nicknames such as "Buri-Trash" and ridicule him alongside Reficul. When they first knew each other, Satanick would typically speak to Ivlis in a casual and rough manner. He also used to refer to Ivlis with "omae." [56] [11] After realizing he loved him, he began using overly affectionate speech when addressing him. [11] After Reficul left Ivlis with Satanick, Satanick began to be more belligerent with him.

He eventually fell in love with Ivlis during the events of Seaside Dispatches 1. [25] It is also during this junction of time where Satanick and Ivlis began engaging with each other in a more sexual manner, leading to Ivlis giving birth to their son Licorice. Once Satanick realized his love for Ivlis in Distorted Love, he confessed to Ivlis after much denial and contemplation. Ivlis, however, was confused with his confession. Satanick then proceeded to have difficulty managing his newfound emotions for Ivlis, the factors of which often led to Satanick becoming frustrated with himself and hurting Ivlis on impulse. In spite of this, he eventually accepted and indulged in his feelings for Ivlis. In Truth, Satanick inquires his robot 4545 about Ivlis’ feelings for him. It is then when 4545 reveals that Ivlis’ heart has begun "changing" since he met Satanick. Licorice takes note of this fact in Like Mother, Like Son as well.

In contrast to how their relationship was in the past, where Satanick would often bully Ivlis and make the former annoyed with him, Satanick now tries to romantically pursue Ivlis at any given opportunity whilst Ivlis does not react and voices his displeasure more. Satanick, however, does not take what he says into consideration. He does not appear to become as mad at him as he did in the past either.

When asked if Satanick would ever apologize to Ivlis, Deep-Sea Prisoner speculated that he may one day genuinely apologize. [15] Ivlis may have complicated feelings regarding Satanick, but he might accept Satanick's apology. Deep-Sea Prisoner stated, "In this world, there are a lot of relationships in which two people can be together even if they don't always completely forgive each other." [15] However, if Ivlis were to refuse Satanick's apology, Satanick would likely become severely depressed. [15]

In Funamushi Private Deep-Sea Academy (Deep-Sea Prisoner's Highschool AU) Satanick and Ivlis' relationship is more toned-down. They do not partake in violent acts. Their first kiss was following an invitation from Satanick during a sunset after a date. Afterwards, they went to a love hotel. Ivlis also gave birth to Licorice in this AU, which he wanted. [23] [18] Also in this alternative universe there exists Sataneko - a feline copy of Satanick. He was originally sent into Ivlis' house for surveillance purposes, but he rebelled against Satanick. He now lives with Burineko, a feline copy of Ivlis. [57]

Reficul Reficul is Satanick's acquaintance. Satanick calls her "Refi-chan." [58] They seem to be on neutral terms. Reficul also introduced Satanick to Ivlis. She eventually got bored with him, and with Satanick coming around more and more, handed him over to Satanick who began torturing him. [36] Satanick can be seen sometimes calling Reficul with her being unnerved or seemingly annoyed by his shenanigans. Despite his vulgarity, Satanick speaks formally and politely with Reficul and her wife. [11]

Kcalb Kcalb is a fellow devil who does not necessarily welcome Satanick's presence. Although Kcalb tends to avoid Satanick at all costs, they are seen interacting in artworks after events of The Gray Garden. Kcalb often avoids him and is mute around him, [42] barely responsive during their interactions. However, he can turn to violence if Satanick provokes him. Satanick enjoys teasing Kcalb about his relationship with Etihw by making constant sexual jokes; on several occasions, Kcalb has beaten Satanick up for his comments regarding Etihw. Despite his vulgarity, Satanick speaks formally and politely with Kcalb. [11]

Etihw Etihw met Satanick after the events of The Gray Garden through Kcalb. However, they have no significant relationship. [42] Satanick finds Etihw cute much to Kcalb's chagrin. Etihw is one of the ways Satanick provokes Kcalb, usually by speaking about Etihw in a lewd manner. Although Satanick finds Etihw to be cute, he has said he would not "NTR" (short for the Japanese word netorare meaning "to steal one's loved one") them away from Kcalb. However, he has also said he would not mind having a threesome with them and Kcalb. Despite his vulgarity, Satanick speaks formally and politely with Etihw. [11]

Poemi Poemi has yet to be shown interacting directly with Satanick, but it has been said she is wary of him. [22] She is also unaware of what Satanick has done to Ivlis. [22] They were once seen together in the Distorted Love 2 mini-comics when she returned from a camping trip with Emalf and Licorice, only to find her father covered in Satanick's purple blood and passed out on his lap.

In Funamushi Private Deep-Sea Academy, Satanick once told Poemi to call him "Papa," but she refused.
