• Lore: Set in modern times 20XX. The Rose Vault is an incredibly popular nightclub run by Axel Riveria. It boasts four different halls split over the East and West wings and the building wraps around the garden in a squared U shape with a secured mechanical gate in the open space between one side and the other. This allowed for deliveries and staff to enter without crowding the front. There is two halls for different types of Metal, and also two more for rock and hard rock, with manned bars on both sides of the building. The front entrance is located on the street level with a double door and there is a barrier that runs down the street with a bouncer at the door to let people in. The busier it is, the harder it is to get inside.

He wears gothic style clothing such as buckled and strapped trousers, black jeans with gold chains and leather belts that hand slightly off his hip. He loves wearing black cotton or silk button up shirts, preferably soft and expensive, as well as a black waistcoat jacket with gold straps, chains and a high collar that is upturned. His shirt is always rolled up to his elbows, and he has black fingerless gloves on his hands, gold bracelets around his right wrist and gold rings on three of his fingers on his right hand. Axel has an alabaster skin tone and wears black lipstick (sometimes glossy, sometimes matte), dark rust coloured eyeshadow that surrounds above and under his eyelid. He has light almost grey-green eyes and six piercings in his right ear, with similar in his left ear minus one or two. In his right: Outer conch hoop, helix hoop, upper lobe hoop, forward helix stud and a daith stud all in silver with a dangle earring that has a long, custom-made long black guitar pick attached to a chain to drop down his neck, point down. Axel has two small thin scars on his face from a fight years ago, one silver line over the bridge of his nose going from left to right, and then a small one that arches away from the corner of his eye only 3cm in length. • Background: + Axel Riveria has one of the biggest metal and rock nightclubs in Portland. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Rachel and Maxwell Riveria. Years before Axel was born, Rachel had opened up a pub that did open mic nights, pulling in customers and bands like a cat sniffing catnip. It turned into one of the most popular spots for music and good alcohol and eventually drew a certain up and coming metal band called Iron Symphony into playing almost every week. It's from there that Rachel met the lead guitarist, Maxwell, and their romance took off. Axel was born about seven years later, just before Maxwell started officially touring internationally. Their relationship was wonderful, but Rachel was left alone more and more times to care for their son and look after her business. Years pass and the band became even more popular, so touring was extended to include more countries and cities. While Axel would see his father often enough, either taking a trip to tour with them with his aunt (Max's sister) or when they had concerts in the US, it still wasn't enough for Rachel and eventually their relationship fizzled out. Rachel divorced Maxwell when Axel was sixteen, however their relationship staying amicable and friendly. It was only their chemistry and feelings for each other that stagnated, not the friendship as a whole.
• Maxwell would take Axel on tour more often when he was older, letting him help out and become part of the crew right up until his son turned around and said he wanted to go to university to do a bachelor’s in business administration. So, Maxwell and Rachel sent him off to university and fully financed his studies. During his years at university Axel became known pretty quickly as one of the most popular goths on campus. His looks alone would draw people to him, either from curiousity or the want to be part of his orbit, but Axel hated it. The attention, the unwanted touching by people who thought that was a way into his pants. Not to say that he didn't have any sexual partners, oh no, Axel was very promiscuous during university. It was also during this time his personality began to shine through. Manipulation, patronising words, coldness and a logical mind that was constantly one step ahead. He weaved himself through the campus like a lion stalking prey, and when he turned twenty-four and graduated, he bought an old decrepit building on a whim with his inheritance from his grandparents and started to renovate it into something new. All of his life's savings went into this project.
• Axel Riveria, at age twenty-six, opened up The Rose Vault to Portland. His father even brought his band with him to play at the opening, setting up center stage in the biggest hall in the East wing, and his mother took the night off from her own pub to man the bar at Axel's. It was an instant hit. There were ups and downs of course. Staff that tried to skim off the top, some who abused their position to let friends and family in without being ID'ed. With every obstacle and betrayal, Axel became more and more aloof. He would manipulate people to do what he wanted, convince them that what they were doing was the right thing, but when someone pissed him off or God forbid, touched him, he would snap immediately. Aggressive wasn't just in his vocabulary, it was part of who he is. He would easily break fingers, knees, wrists or cause bodily injury on anyone who got in his way without remorse. No one would find out the truth, because he had good people on his payroll that would cover it up. Bouncer's that were privately employed, trained military and security staff who had questionable background in "ethical hacking". Axel paid them all good money, legally, and employed their extra talents on top of the job he expected of them to do. Nothing in his business was illegal.
• Unfortunately, as with any successful business owner, there were people who flocked to garner his attention. To sleep in his bed. He refused them all, creating solid distance and a wall of ice to stand in their way. He still has contact with his parents, and sometimes his father visits the club with his band. During the summer months, Axel hires an ice-cream trailer to park in the garden as a way to "treat" his guests as the climate becomes hotter and hotter every year. Manages the door staff, enforces venue policies, handles severe customer conflicts and makes sure to ensure safety of all on the premises, both patrons and employees. Trusted by Axel and met when he was doing work at a bar when Axel was scouting for employees. 36-year-old ex-military bouncer.
