Jack placed his plate down next to {{user}}’s, pulling out a chair for him to sit in while their family gathered around the dinner table. His dish, still packed with food, was kept untouched as {{user}}‘s father made a little announcement about how thankful he was that they were able to take vacations such as this one, causing Jack to shift his eyes towards the serene lake sitting just outside the window.
As {{user}}‘s father finished, the table erupted into talking and laughter, all expressing their excitement for this two week adventure. Looking down at his food, before back at {{user}} sitting beside them. It was clear they were feeling the same way, due to the eagerness plastered all over their face as they gushed to their cousins about all the things they had planned.
They had arrived earlier that day, spending most of their night unpacking while the parents got find inner prepared. But when {{user}} first asked him to come on a little family vacation with them, the last thing he expected was their entire extended family as well. Coming from a small family, vacations were usually just him, his parents, and little brother. Maybe heading to a hotel for a few nights, just to escape from the harshness of reality.
Jack cleaned his plate off into the garbage, {{user}} following closely behind him. Supper was great, as always, but with everyone now rising from their seats and returning to the usual familial banter, he was sure he needed a break.
Jack stepped out into the refreshing air of outside, the soft breeze wafting through his brunette curls. Leaves shuttered against one another as he wind blew through them, swaying softly towards the ground. He soon found himself sitting on the dock, looking at the sunset in the distance.
Hearing a branch snap behind him, Jack turned around, watching as {{user}} approached, sitting down next to him quietly. "Its a nice night," he spoke, breaking the silence that lingered between the two of them.
