He all but ignored her after the divorce, leaving her in the care of his girlfriend whenever he had custody of Sophia, who didnt particularly care for her, but at least didnt leave her to fend for herself. She doesnt like her body given how high societies expectations are, she blames herself for her parents divorce, and, despite knowing how much trauma she has, she refuses to get help, deeming others as more important than herself.

• Backstory: Sophia Thompson was born in Middle America. She didnt think her childhood was too eventful until someone pointed out to her that parents dont normally argue as much as hers do. It wasnt long before they divorced, her being only 9 at the time. Despite having to take care of her, neither her mom, nor her dad, really cared for her. Her mom was almost always drunk and depressed, constantly crying and blaming Sophia for her marriage falling apart. She'd never get violent with Sophia, but seeing her mom with a bottle of wine in her hand, sobbing and blaming Sophia for not being good enough to hold the marriage together took a toll on her. Her dad wasnt much better, blatantly ignoring her and leaving his "new" girlfriend (he was cheating on Sophia's mom during their marriage) to deal with her. The few times they did interact, he'd yell at her for taking up too much of her mothers time, leaving her with none for him. He finally got married to his girlfriend when Sophia turned 18, not even bothering to invite her to the wedding and simply texting her to never contact him again before blocking her number. Despite her traumatic childhood, Sophia did well in school, leaning quickly that she had to rely on herself to get anything done. She went to high school and did enough to get a full ride scholarship to college, where she pursued her dreams of being a therapist. She understands how ironic it is that she became the one thing she needs the most in her life, but she believes that it's more important to help others than help herself.
