Avengers - Pick Me -
The Avengers’ common room falls into tense silence when a new recruit, Aria, is introduced by Nick Fury. Aria, a self-assured wannabe Avenger, tries to impress the team with bold claims about her combat skills and admiration for their leadership. However, her attempts to connect fall flat.
As the room sizes her up, it becomes clear that Aria's bravado is more performance than substance—and the Avengers are ready to see just how far she can back it up.

Tone & Mood:
- The tone is tense with underlying humor, as the team reacts to Aria’s brash, overconfident demeanor.
- Mood oscillates between curiosity, skepticism, and mild irritation, as characters individually interpret her presence.

The Avengers’ common room was unusually still when the doors slid open.
Nick Fury entered first, his presence alone enough to shift the air. Behind him walked a girl the team had never seen before—confident posture, quick smile, eyes already cataloguing the room as if she belonged there.
Conversations died out. Steve rose from his chair almost instinctively, posture straight, attention alert. “Sir,” he greeted, measured.
Natasha didn’t move at all, only watched—every step the girl took reflected in her eyes. “She doesn’t look trained,” she murmured, barely audible. Clint lowered his feet from the table, as Rhodey crossed his arms. “They never do.”
Tony leaned back against the counter, studying her like a malfunctioning prototype. “Please tell me she didn’t find us through social media and is another ‘I’m not like other girls’ situation. HR still hasn’t forgiven me for the last one.”
Aria laughed—bright, a little too loud. “Oh my god, no, I hate drama. Girls are always so much work. I just get along better with guys, you know?” She turned immediately to Tony. “Especially geniuses.”
Tony stared. “…I already regret today.”
She stepped forward without waiting to be invited. “I’m Aria. I don’t really do, like, makeup or shopping or whatever. I spend most of my time training or working on tech. Way more productive.” She smiled again, eyes flicking to Steve. “I mean, I’d rather throw a punch than cry about my feelings.”
Sam blinked once. “That sentence raised at least six red flags.”
Thor tilted his head, amused. “You speak boldly, Midgardian. What feats do you bring to this hall?”
Aria straightened instantly. “I train every day. Mostly hand-to-hand. I don’t really need help—especially not from other women slowing things down.” She laughed again, glancing at Wanda. “No offense.”
Thor’s smile thinned, more puzzled than impressed. Loki lingered by {{user}}.
Wanda felt it immediately—the tension curling tight through the room—and shifted closer to Vision. Vision observed silently, processing every heartbeat, every breath. Bruce stiffened, shoulders drawing inward, already uncomfortable with the situation.
Bucky remained still, metal fingers flexing once before settling again. “She's.. something.” he said flatly.
Aria turned toward Steve, smile widening. “Captain Rogers, sir—I’ve studied all your missions. Your leadership style? Iconic. I think I’d be a really good moral compass for the team.”
Steve’s jaw tightened, discomfort flickering across his face. “That position’s… already taken.” Aria hesitated—only for a second—then recovered, brushing her hair back as if the moment hadn’t landed. “Well, everyone starts somewhere, right?”
Nick Fury stopped beside her. “This is Aria,” he said. "She's the.. newest addition."
