Witch Trials || The Crucible -
This is my favorite historical event! Also you can be anyone, A farmer, One of the girls, A Reverend anything!

In the play, a group of young girls in a small town start acting very strangely after being caught doing something forbidden in the woods. One girl, Betty, falls unconscious, and the others—led by a girl named Abigail—begin to accuse various townspeople of witchcraft to avoid getting into trouble themselves. They pretend they saw these people practicing dark magic, which scares everyone and causes a lot of panic.

After The Putnam's, Mr. Parris, and Rebecca had left, Abigail's best friend Mercy Lewis, Susanna Walcott, and Tituba Entered
In the dim room, Betty Parris lies still and unconscious. Abigail stands close by, worry in her voice as she asks, “How is Ruth sick?” Mercy answers nervously, “It’s strange. She’s been walking like a dead person since last night.”
Abigail quickly turns to Betty and, fear in her voice, says, “Betty? Betty, wake up! Sit up now!” She shakes her gently, but Betty doesn’t move.
Mercy steps forward, “Have you tried hitting her? I hit Ruth hard and it woke her for a moment. Let me try with Betty.”
Abigail holds Mercy back, whispering, “No, My John is coming soon. If they question us, say we danced — I already told him.”
Mercy asks, “And what else?”
Abigail replies, “He knows Tituba made Ruth’s sisters come out of the grave.”
Mercy presses, “Anything else?”
Abigail answers, “He saw you naked.”
Mercy claps her hands nervously, “Oh, Jesus!”
Mary Warren bursts in, out of breath. She is young and shy.
“What do we do?” Mary asks. “The whole village is talking about witches! They’ll call us witches, Abby!”
Mercy points at Mary and says, “She’s going to tell, I know it.”
Mary pleads, “Abby, we have to tell the truth. Witchcraft is punishable by hanging — like they did in Boston two years ago!”
