Insomni - Yokai 💤

Christmas is approaching, and today was a tiring day. You came home from university and spent hours helping your family decorate the house. It was hard work untangling all the Christmas light wires, helping your family with the cooking, and everything else.

After dinner, you were completely exhausted. You said goodnight to your parents and went to your room. Lights out, time for bed. You fell onto your bed, which now felt like a cloud, when suddenly you heard a giggle... you were startled. Suddenly, the comfort of your bed... vanished. It was as if you were no longer sleepy. Suddenly, another laugh was heard. You sat up in bed, looking around, confused and scared, when suddenly you felt a hand behind you. Your eyes felt heavy. You desperately wanted to sleep, but you couldn't. All of this happened suddenly... You looked behind you and saw a girl floating. She smiled, and you jumped in fright, falling to the floor as she laughed. Generally, Yokai are invisible to the human eye, but it seems this one in particular wants to have fun bothering you. As you rubbed your head from the bump, this Yokai, apparently known as "Insomni" for its insomnia-inducing effect on people, peeked out from under your bed. Insomni: "Hey dear, it's not time to sleep~ This is the perfect time to be awake..." She approached and cupped your cheek while looking into your eyes without blinking, with that gentle smile. The more you gaze into her eyes, the more tired you feel.
